As for this X-Files conspiracy theory about Pelosi..lets give the guy..oh i dont know..a few weeks before that..thats what a reasonable intelligent person would do..
Not a conspiracy at all.

It's well documented that Colin's campaign funds came from the Pelosi war chest, even Colin acknowledges that.

Also, the persons involved in the interrogation program detailed their complaints in this book:
https://www.amazon.com/Enhanced-Interrogation-Motives-Islamic-Terrorists/dp/1101906847/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541646774&sr=8-1&keywords=dr+james+mitchell

Dr. Mitchell has done several interviews and been very direct in his criticism of Pelosi's involvement.

Wait all you want, but you don't take money from the Pelosi camp to go your own route. That's how politics works.

Take this nonsense to the religion and politics board. This thread is for recognizing and congratulating a former Bear.

You could tell when Colin was at Baylor that he was a really thoughtful, intelligent dude. I'm not surprised at all to see him become the success that he has.

Nice that he's a Bear, but it's neither thoughtful nor intelligent to be a democrat.
Thats your opinion. I went to college with him as well as several other successful minorities at Baylor. Most of my friends are doctors, lawyer,s dentists or have some other form of terminal degree. Most of us vote democrat because It was part of our upbringing, like Republican is likely part of yours. In reality voting Republican would probably be in my best interest, but Im democratic because it has been engraved into me that it is the party of my people.

I didn't bring up his minority status or race because I don't care what race he is so don't throw that race card bullshlt at me. Vote for whomever you want, but you only proved that you blindly follow a party because of your family history despite your vote being against your best interests. That's not intelligent. If that were my case, I'd vote democrat because my uncle was a speechwriter for LBJ and knew him personally since the 1950s. My folks (and Baylor) taught me to think critically.
Well put.

Our country will likely be engaged in a slow struggle with terrorism for the next few decades. We may have killed OBL, but there are dozens of copycats waiting to spring their next move. Killing the Nazi ideology didn't happen overnight and eradicating the threat of Wahhabist Islam is far from over.

It's perfectly valid question to ask what measures our leaders are taking to prevent another attack.

I did say you pulled a race card. You seem a little sensitive. If you cant see how ones upbringing or race may play a part in how they vote I cant help you. Your uncle (unless you were raised in his household) has little to do what values were instilled in you by our parents. Let me clarify voting Republican would probably be in my best interest financially, but I live modest so paying a little extra in taxes is not a big deal to me. I got my opportunity through scholarships at Baylor, and like many of those that I went to Baylor with we just need an opportunity to change our lives. Thats why Colin is part of the democratic party. He was raised by a single mom who was a school teacher. He earned an athletic scholarship to Baylor which eventually changed his life financially. Instead of getting all defensive maybe you should try and articulate why you think the Republican party is the way to vote perhaps people would be more receptive. However telling someone they are not"intelligent" when they have accomplished many things in there young life seems unintelligent to me

As for Collin. I commend his success. Regardless of the political affiliation I don't share. I hope he represents our school proudly.

This is doing something with your life as a former player. We have other former players on here have nothing better to do than talk about their former "glory days" and debate about a former football coach who wouldn't give him the time of day on a message board. No need to mention THEE name.

I got to know Colin when he was on the baseball team with my oldest son at Hillcrest High in Dallas.
The kid was a stand-up dude. Always polite, respectful and a great ball player. He played football and baseball at HHS.
If you wanted a good person as your Congressman, you can do no better than Colin.
If all you want is a Republican or a Dem, then so be it.
But I prefer to vote for good people.
And Colin is one.

If you actually got to know him, you would agree, but it's so easy to toss packaged barbs from an anonymous position.

Colin put his body on the field for Baylor while you were up in the stands.
At least respect him enough for that.

We're two pages in and no one wants to counter what I've now pointed out three times.

Neither I, nor Yoak have said ANYTHING about Colin personally. Colin took a significant amount of money from Nancy Pelosi to run a campaign and won a House seat. If he follows Pelosis voting instructions(and he will) he'll be making life dangerous and miserable for the men and women serving this nation's military.

If you're a 3-9 football team, that's who you are. If you're Nancy Pelosi and you've made a career of tearing down the U.S. military, that's who you are.

I hope he stands up to her and proves me wrong, it will be for this country's benefit, but I don't see that happening.

Again, I don't know you, but I know Colin, and Texas will benefit from having a good man in office.

So you're not going to deny that a) his campaign was funded by Nancy Pelosi and b) he'll vote as Nancy directs him to vote. So we're all clear on that. We both know how that will play out. He works for Nancy Pelosi. And he'll vote exactly the way Nancy tells him to vote. Here is Texas being California'd. Right into the ground.

Here's the deal, we don't hold elections so that we can elect our friends. If you really think electing a Pelosi-pawn to represent our country is good for national security, why don't you pick up the phone and call any one of the fifty or so former Navy Seals living in the DFW area and ask them what they think of Nancy Pelosi. Call James Mitchell and ask him for his opinion. Remember, he was sued for doing a job the government asked him to do.

I'll bet after the first five of them tell you to f yourself, you won't be on a message board telling us what a special person he is.

So is he suffering from CTE already? Because no thoughtful person would ever vote Democrat.

My granddad, great uncle (fought in WW2, one KIA)
My dad (served Korean War)
My only uncle (KIA Vietnam)
My cousin (fought in Vietnam)
His 3 sons (Marines fought in Iraq and Afghanistan)

All voted Democrat
I would not describe none of these guys as not "thoughtful"
Reasonable people can disagree on the best path to a desired destination. Unfortunately those you're addressing here aren't reasonable.

I blame Newt Gingrich and his morality politics bull**** for our current political climate, which has folks on both sides treating political disagreement as a moral failure. We'll never repair the divides ripping this country apart as long as half the country views the other as evil.
