About 200,000 Americans are classified as "porn addicts." 40 million American people regularly visit porn sites. 35% of all internet downloads are related to pornography. webroot.com
And "regularly visit" is not "corrupted". You changed a fact to a value judgment.
Pornography is just one of many personal freedoms I am pro.
I was glancing at a few other articles on this topic. The 40 million number seems a bit low. For example, there are around 151 million men.
https://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/briefs/c2010br-03.pdfThis will leave you with roughly 100 million men who are over 10 years old and under 55 years of age. Some of the numbers I have seen are that the rates seem to be anywhere from 70 to 90%. This would put numbers at the range of 63 million to 90 million. So taking into account various factors, I would imagine the numbers are closer to at least 50 million to 70 million. It should be worth pointing out that would be 1/3 to 1/2 of all men.
And here is a Huffington Post article that highlights some very disturbing numbers for religious men:
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/pornography-addiction-amo_b_5963460- 50% of religious men and men and 20% of religious women stated that they were addicted to pornography
- 54% of men polled that they visited porn websites at least frequently
There was a survey done that had these results:
- Eight in ten(79%) men between the ages of 18 and 30 view pornography monthly
- Two-thirds (67%) of men between the ages of 31 and 49 view pornography monthly
- One-half (49%) of men between the ages of 50 and 68 view pornography monthly
- Christian men are watching pornography at work at the same rate as the national average
- One-third (33%) of men between the ages of 18 and 30 either think that they are addicted or are unsure if they are addicted to pornography
- Combined, 18% of all men either think that they are addicted or are unsure if they are addicted to pornography, which equates to 21 million men
So there seems to be a big disparity between the webroot results and this other information.
And another article with some sobering statistics:
