Yeah. Unless Nancy and Chuck earmark another $25 billion for counseling and support services for traumatized transgender Native Americans that have just had a government funded abortion.
Because that is biologically impossible.tommie said:RD2WINAGNBEAR86 said:tommie said:

Yeah. Unless Nancy and Chuck earmark another $25 billion for counseling and support services for traumatized transgender Native Americans that have just had a government funded abortion.
If that's what it takes to get it done, why not fund women with male organs who had an abortion not allowed by law?

Most shocking about this is the mistreatment of chickens we have witnessed in other countries!

McConnell wrote a bill Democrats won't support when he needed a bipartisan vote.
His bill has to pass Congress. Which has a Democratic majority. Pelosi's strategy--create her own stimulus bill--was a smart move to counter McConnell's bullying. The huffing and puffing about Pelosi and the Democrats holding up this bill when it contains a slush fund presided over by Steve Mnuchin and the Trump admin, and when Trump is talking about bailing out cruise lines and his own hotels, with no congressional oversight or reporting requirements, is embarrassing. And so are the people who buy the RW media's whinging that some senators and a majority of congress opposes a bailout that amounts to corporate welfare.

GOP details Pelosi's $2.5 trillion 'socialist wish list' in coronavirus aid package
why should they give a damn about us? they have everything in the world at their disposal...until someone (a newly elected official with balls or a hot piece of ass walks into DC and implements change this circus show will never quit. We are to blame for allowing it....it is pathetic that the people who are to represent us have better benefits, make 174k a year, and have access to insider trading without punishment.bear2be2 said:This is the problem with these things. What did this "bipartisan" Senate bill say? It clearly was not the House bill that was passed last weekend and was summarized yesterday on this board. Was it all corporate bailout without condition and nothing for workers?
Knowing Mitch McConnell, who is just the other side of the ****ty Nancy Pelosi/Chuck Schumer/Adam Schiff coin, I have little trouble believing that a bait and switch took place. But I hold them all equally accountable for their complete inability to govern.
No one should be playing politics right now, and they all are.
Our government is broken beyond repair. It's time to hit the reset button and vote all of these ****bags out. This is a game to them. They don't give a damn about any of us.

If you want a quick summary of the state of play over fiscal stimulus legislation, here it is: Republicans insist that we should fight a plague with trickle-down economics and crony capitalism. Democrats, for some reason, don't agree, and think we should focus on directly helping Americans in need.
And if legislation is stalled, as it appears to be as I write this (although things change fast when we're on Covid time), it's because Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, is holding needy Americans hostage in an attempt to blackmail Democrats into giving Donald Trump a $500 billion slush fund.

Now Pelosi is withholding aid to Americans unless she gets a quid pro quo of a liberal wishlist of goodies.
Ok. Got it.

Shameful.
Do these stupid folks not realize when you are forced to shelter in place the $$$$ have to come from somewhere.
This is what you gets when folks that don't live in the real world have the vote.
Several things here.
First, very odd that there is all this complaining about lack of bi-partisanship when McConnell intentionally excluded the Democrats from the drafting process.
Second, very odd that the complaint is the Democrats are holding up getting money to the people when the Democrats's complaint about the bull is that the money is not going to the people, it's going to companies.
Third, this will get done in the next day.
You are covering for them. Stop it.
It's too late tomorrow: the markets will tank right off the bat.
Dems know full well what their stunt will do to the market tomorrow.
Dems also know that 80% of the media will find a way to blame.....Trump.
Ruthlessly cynical power politics.
They still refused the bill.
They should have signed it and then pushed for more after the fact. But they want Trump to look bad.
You told me it would have passed on Monday. This post did not age well. All you Chicken Little's who Sunday night we're convinced that we had reached the end of the republic because the party that regularly receives the most votes in elections would not just sign off on 2 trillion in spending designed by the party who gets less votes turned out to be badly mistaken.
The deal got done and the markets did the opposite of collapsing.
One other thing. I watched the press conference yesterday. POTUS called Larry Kudlow up to explain the package. Kudlow took great care to emphasize that this spending would be subject to congressional oversight and the audit of an inspector general. Which is good but ironic as most reports indicate that was the biggest point of contention-the administration had resisted the very structure it is now touting.
While I agree that some of Pelosi's asks were inappropriate overreaches, getting that taxpayer protection alone was worth the two days of extra negotiating.
Monday vs. Tuesday night=BFD. I told you a deal would get done and the markets wouldn't collapse. I was right, not that it took a genius to see it. Must say, I thought the Dow would steady at 20,000. Never forget the market goes up and comes down. I'm proof positive it doesn't take a genius. I always marvel at those who sit on the sidelines complaining about the Big Boys making the long green. They remind me of the race going one way and one racer going the other way. The more he/she runs the further behind he/she gets. Don't fight it. Pick out a dividend paying stock( s) and invest of 1000 at 3% for 1 year. Doesn't sound like much does it? Now add a 1000 for 18 years at 3%. Don't forget your compounding the interest. Looks a little better doesn't it? That's how I paid for the kids college and came out debt free at the other end. I will admit I had a better interest rate. Can't afford 1000 a year? Yes you can, buy a cheaper truck and invest the difference between the cheaper and the new. If nothing else your savings will offset the insurance and taxes. Or put the money from Starbucks in a jar and forgo the cup of coffee and count the harvest at years end. Better yet, forgo the 10K tattoo and invest the 10K and let it ride for 45 years. Or just sit back and ***** about the Big Boys. Don't know why I posted this. Not alone, you're probably wondering yourself. Sic'em Bears.Booray said:Monday vs. Tuesday night=BFD. I told you a deal would get done and the markets wouldn't collapse. Dems are making sure the money goes to people who actually need it.
The original Rep bill does little for those at the bottom end of the spectrum. Good for the middle class. But not good for the poor.
Also keep in mind that Pelosi was able to produce a strong bipartisan bill from the House for phase 2, but McConnell was either unwilling or unable to do the same in the Senate for phase 3.
