Jared Butler Cleared Medically to Play in NBA
The Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four has been cleared by a panel of medical doctors to play in the NBA. Jared Butler came to Baylor as a transfer from Alabama in the summer of 2018 and went on to become a two time All American and national champion for the Bears. Butler averaged 17 ppg and 5 assists while shooting 42% from 3 point range. He is expected to a be a first round pick in the NBA draft on July 29 along with his teammate Davion Mitchell.
There was some concern about whether the NBA would clear him medically and force him to play overseas. But those concerns were alleviated when a medical panel gave him clearance. He needed at least 2 of the 3 doctors to rule in favor of allowing him to play. Shams Charania was the first to report.
