When was the last time that the Baylor basketball teams combine to go 0-4 in their last few games? 20+ years?

Can't lose 2 in a row on your home court especially one to a piss poor team and win a league title. That's out the window at this point just hope we right the ship

Yep - it's KU's to lose at this point as it normally is in the B12. I'm now thinking 12-6 in conference is the ceiling for this team, and that's even if they do get the ship righted.

10-8 seems realistic to me. We still have to go to Lubbock, Morgantown, Lawrence, Austin. Those could all be L's and we've shown zero ability to defend the home court. I see zero guaranteed W's left after today

Probably just lost the Big 12
It will be difficult to win the big 12 with two home losses.

It will be impossible to win the Big 12 playing like they did the last 2 games.

Best not to worry with that and just play to be their best at tournament time hoping for a respectable elite 8

Guess Beard was right that the path to the Big 12 championship goes through Lawrence

The path may still go through Waco…where everybody comes to get their wins!

Looks like many are going to take advantage of that

Nope I'm a realistic fan. Something you DESPERATELY need to realize and become yourself. You'd look a lot less idiotic. Instead you make moronic claims like "were going undefeated" or "Browns going #1". I can be a fan of BU and also be critical when they play poor. Today for 35 minutes they played really poor
Please stop pretending. You are not a BU fan.

Agree.

Injuries have dealt a blow to the team. Frustraing for sure but it is what it is.

Just want the team to be healthy in March like we were last year. If we are 100% healthy in March we have as good a chance as anyone to win it all.

Last year's team had ball movement all around the court. None of our guards dribbled as much playing 1 on 5. Drew should show this years team, game film from last year so they at least know what an O is supposed to look like. Akinjo should study Davion's games. This team still has good players. European teams have beaten US teams before with teamwork, not with the best individual talent.

Last year we had the luxury of having 2 NBA point guards on our roster, this year we do not. We were able to insure either Butler or Davion was in the game at all times, and when playing together, they could rotate PG duties so the other guy could "rest" while playing off the ball. We also had Teague, who wasn't a true PG, but we could isolate him since he could handle the ball effectively and was a heady passer and high IQ player. We would isolate all 3 of those guys and create mismatches, because all 3 of them could shoot from the perimeter, penetrate and score, or penetrate to create for others.

This year we do not have the 2 NBA PGs on our roster, and we do not have Teague. Akinjo has been terrific and is being unfairly scapegoated, IMO. But due to roster construction and injuries, we are overly reliant on Akinjo to create everything on offense. He is our only PG and he doesn't have another PG to share the ball-handling duties with. Love might have helped but he has been out for the year. Bonner is a developmental guy at best, and is only playing due to multiple injuries in front of him. Flagler and Cryer are great scoring guards but struggle mightily when forced to play PG, which puts more stress on Akinjo. No amount of film study will turn them into PGs.

Bottom line, we need a healthy Akinjo before tournament time. If he is healthy and the team gets its rhythm back, we have as good a chance as anyone to pull off an elite 8 or final 4 season.

Art Briles won a Bowl game with no established QB, so a coach can make do. A MBB team will rarely have an NBA point guard or 2, but ball movement, which creates open shots for everyone, still must happen. Guards playing ISO basketball causes other players to stand around and watch because the guard play is unpredictable. The ball must move, and players must move without the ball, knowing they'll get the pass when open, to create a dynamic O.

If only Drew could coach as good as Art Briles! Problem solved.

Really, I should have used Aranda as a better example. He had an injured QB (point guard) situation, but he had other good players. He worked with it and won in spite of it.

I am still trying to understand Mayer's exit after hitting that big three to get us within three. He went to the bench after that and I don't think ever came back in the game. He is one of the few guys on the team that can create for his own shot or shoot over pretty much every defender. His defense has improved, but maybe Drew views him as a liability at the end of the game on the defensive side of the ball? I just don't know why you don't keep him in at least as a decoy. OSU's D would have had to respect the three line with him in the game.

I think everyone here except Crawfoso understands its time to upgrade our head coach. I expect several of you to apply.

Agree 100%. I was perplexed about that very same thing. What a head-scratcher.

4th year player Mayer was on the bench in the final seconds when the Bears could have used him the most. While CSD put true-freshman Brown out there.......who promptly got his pocket picked on a (very) lazy and lack of court awareness dribble up the floor on one of the two most critical possessions of the waining seconds.

It looks like he came out and I forget who subbed in on the press.

Drew has done that several times this year and quite frankly it's baffling. We leave KB in, who in my opinion is not a better defender at this stage.

MM did come back in later.
TXBEAR_bf

MM is better on both ends in my opinion. Kendall is obviously more athletic, but he is nowhere near the offensive threat that MM is.

On a more positive note, I saw this guy on the big screen during the game:

He was wearing the same distinctive shirt! Too bad he didn't bring any Sugar Bowl mojo to the Ferrell Center the other day.
