I enjoyed the HOT... basically pick your seat

Except when those Phi Slama Jamma bums came in...thing was filled to the brim ..or the Root Hogs.

How about the the time with a one point lead with 8 minutes to go Guy Lewis went to the 4 corners and at the end they lost the ball, but we didn't score . HOT Memories.
Yep, although I thought it was closer to 10 min left when UH stalled with the game tied 51-51. They drove the lane, lost the ball, we tried to dribble out, had it stolen and UH laid it in at the buzzer. Tip-off was at 7:30 in those days; game was over by 8:45.

That game was televised (back in the day when not every game was) and I remember the loud booing of the BU crowd as UH stalled all of that clock time out. I'm pretty sure it was Pat Nunley that got his pocket picked while attempting to drive in for what would've been the game winning bucket. Thank goodness the shot clock came into being not too many seasons after that.

Were not near that many there.

Fun game. Was nice to enjoy watching us just run somebody out of the gym. Defensive intensity way up. Bonner really getting his confidence. Double doubles from Brown and Tcham. Just killed K State on the boards. Offense more evenly distributed. Great win against a team that just beat Tech and Texas and gave Kansas all they wanted in double OT.

CorrectNunley tried to dribble out from under the UH basket and they stole it and laid it in at the buzzer. I doubt it was televised because it was a Wednesday night game IIRC.

I wish they would show some of those old SWC games. I know that one probably wasn't televised but there were some great one!

I still have an old VCR from the 1990 SWC tournament..we had upset #2 Arkansas the month before.

Nolan Richardson hated Iba; we were down 19-2 at Reunion Arena and Iba went out to middle of court to stop a Todd Day led fast break.. funniest thing I've ever seen.

Then in 2nd half he refused to give ball to ref and was T'd up.

SWC was a circus back then.

Yes it was a week night game and it absolutely was televised regionally - I distinctly recall watching it. There were regional telecasts of selected week night SWC bball games in that time period.

Granted Nolan Richardson was a great coach, but he was also a total jerk and he did hate Iba. I recall a late game situation in that era when Arky easily had the game in hand and instead of just dribbling the clock out, Richardson inserted his big fat Post player, Oliver Miller, to play Point Guard and do a one on one drive to the basket layup just to show up Iba. Not sure if it was the same game or not, but I also recall Richardson smirking and popping off to Iba (in some fashion) during the end of game handshake line, which set Iba off, as you could see him reacting and screaming back at Richardson.

And when Hakeem Olajuwon, as a redshirt freshman and "sixth man" at UH was asked by Jim Haller during a time out to sit down and talk to him on the Baylor bench. Guy Lewis almost had a stroke! Hakeem was just being polite
Retreat Hell! We just got here! The 2/5
