I hate even responding to the "Akinjo is single handedly costing us games" guy/girl. Mostly because their account is so new and was suspiciously critical of Akinjo from the get-go.

Can't quite figure out if they're for real...

Maybe a Bama troll. If it's some kind of troll it's pretty pathetic for someone to get their jollies stirring up acrimony on an opposing fan base web site. Whoever goes that needs to get a life!

It appears, by just watching the games, many on here see that Akinjo does not promote team chemistry, teamwork or positive energy on the court. Compare the last 3 games vs today. Drew allowed Akinjo's ISO, me first, style of play to severely limit Baylor's chance to win, even in spite of any officiating issues. It's a shame.

Timbear and bleacher bum are obviously the same person using 2 user names, he or she only posts to bash akinjo. Advise to just ignore.

Nope. It's only Timbear. I just point out the obvious for those who refuse to see.

Baylor lost this game because they got ot tufted, out hustled, and out quicked.

Yep, that backcourt is elite. They played harder and wanted it more. Their backcourt might be better than our backcourt even with a healthy Akinjo and Cryer. On to the next one, we have to get those guys healthy.

This team is NOT a next man up type of team. I disagree with Drew's decision not to play either Thamba or JTT for most of the 2nd half. I get what he was trying to do but you've got to have a rim protector in the game or they will just do what they did...flush it on the lob dunk.

I'm not as worried about this loss really. It actually may be beneficial in the long run if that is possible. Finally, we play a team as athletic as we are so there are no excuses for not matching that going forward.

I also would not be surprised if UK blows out KU today either. UK at their best is a national champion. I haven't seen a better team all year when they are connected. Problem is you gotta put 6 games in a row like that to accomplish it, but they can do it.

It's definitely possible for the team to be better off in the long run. It all depends on how they respond. We saw what happened after the two losses a couple weeks ago.
True. I still say UK is the favorite to win it all. I predicted a blowout over KU and got it. UK, to me, is the best team in the country.

We'll need to be 100% healthy. If LJ can't go then you cannot win a championship w/o your leading scorer. It is equal to losing Butler halfway through the season last year although that team could have still accomplished what they did. This team is passive. I've seen enough now to know that if Akinjo is not hitting shots like he was earlier in the year nobody will respect him and they slack off of him and make sure the paint is covered + shooters.\

Something has to be such a strength it forces defenses to focus on it and open up other ops. So far this is not happening, but it's who is in 1st gear in March that counts.

Akinjo's back is still tight, which is why his 3 point shots were all short again.

Anyone who blames officiating is moronic. Pathetic. The demographic in society that always blames someone else for their plights in life.

Trust me....no one is blaming officiating other than you and your fellow band of excuse-makers.

I don't think anyone is blaming the officiating as the sole reason why we lost, but was it a part of it? It most definitely was. That's neither moronic, nor pathetic to go by what we saw was called on us vs. what was called (or not called) on Alabama.

Absolutely mcleod.....it wasn't THE reason, but it was certainly one of the reasons.

No doubt it was a factor. The call on Akinjo on the 3 point attempt at the end of the first half that resulted in 3 made FTs was absurd and there were multiple and ones and erroneously called fouls on drives to the rim by Bama guards that resulted in undeserved points. The first 2 fouls on Mayer that impacted his game were ridiculous as another example. I'm not suggesting we didn't receive the benefit any questionable calls, but at best the imbalance was obvious. Not the only reason we lost, but if you didn't notice Bama got a home court job you weren't paying attention.

I'll stop commenting on Akinjo's play. He plays the way he's allowed to practice, so apparently, Drew is ok with it. Doesn't mean that Drew should be, but he obviously is. Blows my mind, but there it is. See y'all around campus.
