I can see why a professional scout would see a lot of long term growth potential for Josh O. He has an impressive frame for his age. His frame could easily carry 20-25 lbs more weight and potential power as he continues to grow.

George is a really good rebounder. If Bonner can shoot like this and Love gets into it... would be a Warrior type college team from 3. Ridiculous.

I see a lot of positives today, but the biggest positive I see?


Cryer is moving easily on that bad foot so I'm gonna hopefully assume the surgery fixed him.

At some point the refs have to realize this is a 40+ point game and stop calling the fouls unless blatantly obvious.

Dale Bonner has been really impressive today. He doesn't look out of place in this guard group at all, which wasn't always the case last season.

If he can shoot 35 percent from 3 this year, he's going to be a very valuable player off the bench.

Shooting has been impressive. But the thing that has impressed me in this game is his maturity. What I mean by that is that this is a game that it's easy to fall into street ball mode. Pretty much everyone has looked that way today at various times (as expected) except for Bonner, Passes have been controlled. He's passed up lower probability shots and found an open shooter. No wild dribbling or playground moves. Just steady, smart basketball.

Asking a guy to go from shooting 17% to 35+% seems like a bit of a stretch, but he's going to get open looks. That's for sure.

If he can at least keep teams honest from beyond the arc (30+%), I'll be happy.

I thought that was a strength of his last year, so I was never really worried about that with him. He's a really poised dude. I was just interested to see if he could improve enough as a shooter to cement himself in that fourth guard spot and allow Love got come along slowly. So far, so good.

Bonner was a 43.7 percent 3-point shooter his sophomore year at Fairmont State and was a 40.7 percent 3-point shooter (84 of 208) in his two years there. He didn't just forget how to shoot. Last year was an issue of confidence, not skill.

So was it officially announced and I just missed it? Pretty obvious Grimes is redshirting if he's not getting into this game and he's not on the injury list.
