KSU shooting 60% in the first half - where is the defensive intensity this program is known for?

Yeah. We have 12 rebounds at half. He has 6 in 9 minutes. Horrible

Rebounding is effort, not skill. He's literally bad at everything that requires basketball skill.

No one ever said he didn't play hard. But he is otherwise a skill-less hack.

K State reminds me a little of the Hank Gathers era Loyola Marymount team. They just jack it up quickly from everywhere. It's fun to watch because they just look to get in a running match and outscore the other team, but defense is definitely not the emphasis.

I like that we're using Bonner on the ball more. That's his best use IMO.

He's a solid penetrator and a good passer. And in the point guard role, we don't need scoring from him.

I hope we see more of that going forward. We need his defense, and that's the best way to maximize what he brings offensively and to mask his limitations as a scorer.

Way too many of our crucial offensive possessions this season have ended in Lohner or Bridges 3s. That's a recipe for a lot of losing.

The bad part is those are created by good offense. That was a great find by Bonner. That should have been a game-tying 3. Lohner just isn't good.

Same with the Bridges 3 the other night. That was a good look off a good pass. He just isn't capable of handling the role we need him to play.

I think he's too loose with his dribble to be the primary facilitator. But I do agree with you that he's not a good enough scorer to function in an off-the-ball role with the rest of this roster.

He's got six assists to one turnover tonight (and should have three or four others that his teammates couldn't finish). And he has three assists for every turnover this season. He's been among the best on the team at taking care of the ball and getting his teammates involved.

Not sure why Lohner is shooting 3's. We need to drive to the basket.

This is college basketball. You have to be able to hit the 3 ball. If you can't knock down wide open 3s, you're not going to be good.

We need to score. We're not doing much of that when we drive to the basket either.

We gotta score dependably

That's fine. I know he's your guy.

But, I'm commenting on the fact that I've seen him dribble himself into enough trouble in his time at Baylor that I don't trust him with the ball in crucial possessions when the defense tightens up. Just because he's been good as a secondary ball handler doesn't mean he'll be just as good as the primary guy. AJ Walton springs to mind.

He and Flagler have shared the primary ball-handling duties today and our offense has been good with both. And George has benefited playing off the ball.

If you want to maximize this team's abilities, the best way to do that is to let Bonner handle the ball and George play the two. Both are better in those positions.

George is too lazy on the ball. Flagler isn't a good transition or off-the-ball defender. Cryer isn't good on defense at all. Not great for our prospects on defense.

This team is what it is. It's a half team, and half teams don't win in the Big 12.

This team is fatally flawed, guys. Just accept it and adjust your expectations accordingly.
