It's so frustrating to not be able to watch the Bears play more than 1 damn game in the Big 12 Tournament

Ahhh, my favorite time on this forum: When we lose and our fans tear into each other.

I'm as calm as can be, saw this L a mile away. If you're not looking at this team through a set of green goggles you can see a team that's incredibly flawed and ripe for a 3/14 upset. It's a poorly constructed team that's mentally weak and can't guard anyone. Of course if you point out those facts your a hater

What a waste of 28 point by Bridges!

Iowa State missed 31 shots but got 21 offensive rebounds. Never seen anything this bad.

They are flawed but will still make it to the round of 32 possibly sweet sixteen depending on the match ups. We will go as far as our shooting goes. Rebounding and toughness need to be addressed this offseason. But I have no doubt we will struggle with the likes of Charleston

We're not a hard riddle to solve: Meet our guards at halfcourt on D; go straight at us in the paint on O.

30% of our losses this year to 1 team....

Why did we not see EJ since middle of 1st half? Injured?

It's not just a toughness issue… it's a talent issue. Zero doubt Josh O will be a stud but he's a year or 2 away. Flo and Lohner bring nothing whatsoever and that kills us every game. When you rely on contested jump shots you're going to go through long scoring droughts. Couple that with the fact we play zero defense and it's easy to see why average offensive teams go on monster runs vs us

Agreed, I'd like to see a 4 guard line up if love can go with bridges at the 5. Sure give up paint points but have the ability to attack from anywhere on the perimeter. Flo has to get his min cut no way around that after this afternoons showing.

Loss definitely stings, but a -27 rebound margin is just pitiful. Waiting time now for the 14 seed we get

Lots of knee-jerk, globalizing overreactions on this thread, per usual.

Basketball is a game of matchups and we clearly match up HORRIBLY with this team.

That said, this result has absolutely nothing to do with our tournament chances (unless we have the misfortune of drawing ISU in our bracket).

Get back home, rest, recalibrate, and let's make a run in the only tournament that actually matters.

It's been patently obvious he shouldn't have returned this year. He's no where near 50% of himself, maybe he'll never be that again. But he's as soft as Flo is defensively and offensively.

Quite frankly, I hope this team gets dropped in the first round, the effort from everyone on this team not named Bonner or Bridges is an embarrassment to the program.

EJ is not soft, he is trying his best. But clearly the lateral movement and explosiveness is gone.

So the only team who can expose us in the dance is ISu? Great take…

Hustle can't out weigh talent in a tough game, I think even lohner could be of value playing the right way like a vital. Doesn't take too much talent to run the floor and box out with intent. Now that's the issue getting them to but into it. Drew needs a come to Jesus meeting with the team. The effort needs to be there in a win or a loss

Nope. But they beat us like a drum three times. While we have beat several other good teams on the way to a top 10 ranking this year.

The year we won it all we lost our first tournament game. We lost again to a team that beat us badly twice in the regular season

Get rested, get healthy, try to make a run

ISU has our number this year. Quicker to every rebound and incapable of fouling (in the refs eyes). Normally we get our 3 point shots and cheap buckets against people. We got no cheap buckets against ISU.

Is it nave to think a supposedly future legend one and done should be able to take over and win a game against the number 5 seed?

This team is soft. I'll die on that hill.

Wish we had someone like that on this team. George ain't it neither was Brown those type of guys are few and far between.

One and done players? I saw none on this squad this season. No one. Some had splash for portions of the season.

Hate that KU remains atop the pedestal after their natty but baylor has proven to be a one and done team with absolutely no follow up success.

A really bad look was when they missed the front end of a one and one with about three minutes left, and the shooter got a short rebound in front of the rim for a layup. That just should not happen. We're missing the toughness of Mitchell and Vital.

Thank you Flo for a great career but I'm glad he's moving on to whatever the next phase of his life will be.

I hope I'm wrong and he gets 15 and 15 in the championship game.

I look forward to seeing a lot of Josh O next year, and a couple of guys who value defense and handing out bruises to the opponents. Not sure where they come from.

We match up horribly against every blue-collar team with Sweet 16 talent.

We saw it against Virginia, Marquette, Iowa State, K-State and TCU, which would have swept us if Miles had played in the rematch.

When we play gritty teams that attack the rim and hustle to the ball, we crater. And when things start going downhill, we fold like a cheap suit.
Crawfoso1973
How long do you want to ignore this user?
We had several bad losses, but several gritty wins too. Let's see how the tournament plays out before burying this group.

We have no choice but to see how the tournament goes. But I think I got this team right after the Marquette game. Every time I've tried to buy in since, I've been horribly let down in short order -- by the same issues we've been talking about since the Norfolk State game.

This team doesn't have enough dogs. It's basically Bridges, Bonner and that's it. Tchamwa Tchatchua competes and plays really hard, but he's a shell of himself physically at this stage unfortunately. Hopefully another offseason of rehab will help him recover more of what he had athletically.
