WACO, Texas — The No. 15 Baylor Men’s Basketball team (4-0) defeated the visiting University of Missouri Kansas City ‘Roos (2-1) by a score of 99-61 thanks to 25 from Jayden Nunn and 23 from Ja’Kobe Walter.

The newcomers to Waco had efficient nights shooting the ball going a combined 14-for-20 including four triples each.

The VCU transfer started off hot, scoring 14 straight points for the Bears midway through the first half to grow a three-point lead into an eight-point lead.

When asked if he realized what he did, Nunn said “I did not. 14 in a row? That's crazy!”

Nunn also said he changed his pregame routine and did a lift today, which he felt helped get his body ready to go.

The Bears expanded that lead to 18 points by halftime with Jalen Bridges and RayJ Dennis also reaching double figures during the second frame.

After not hitting a three for the first time since 1990 in their previous outing, the Bears came alive from deep hitting 13 of 23.

Turnovers were still higher than Scott Drew would probably like at 13 for the game, but the Bears continue to win on the boards and earn many trips to the free throw line.

Not to be outdone by Nunn, Walter helped Baylor cap off the night with a pair of four-point plays in the second half.

Now the Bears have an eight-day lay off heading into a November 22 trip to Brooklyn for the NIT Season Tip-Off. Baylor will face Oregon State at the Barclays Center that day and then face either Pittsburgh or Florida two days later.
