Didn't get to watch the whole game, can someone tell me why we're blaming the refs when we got to take about 20 more free throws than BYU?
because some on here , just won't admit we're a pretty ordinary team, with some serious problems,,,, just keep blaming refs...

You senile old fart, nobody is saying the refs are the sole reason Baylor lost.

I didn't even see him on the bench after he went down. Unless he put his warmups back on.

I guess Walter is 1 and done but nothing about what makes him that seems to translate to the floor consistently. Much of the time it's 4 on 5

That is not true. The officials made some bad calls but we couldn't defend well enough. They had 14 3s. The refs had nothing to do with that.

He's our leading scorer but he's been about as inefficient offensively as BU has had in a good while. His shooting % is somewhere around 37%. He's leading the team in scoring but is also incredibly inefficient in doing so

Hey man. Don't knock the Y. My coaching career peaked there with 10 year olds.
was oldbear 83 officiating?

Not sure. He might have been the one who tossed me when I threw my water bottle (long before the BYU coach did the same)

I agree. His shooting efficiency numbers are in the tank, lately. I understand a good shooter (which he allegedly is) trying to shoot himself out of a funk, but in a league as deep and competitive as this one, you can't afford a guy trying to "get right" at the expense of good offensive possessions. Especially on the road.

Nah, I wasn't much for ejections, and never worked the Y. Mighta been the guy who tossed Drew in the Iowa State game, though ...

Impressive losing to a team that shot 39% from 3 and we shoot 15 or so more free throws.

25% from 3 and dominated on the boards will do that

We better get used to it for the future of this conference

I think you are confused…nobody was saying the refs are the reason Baylor lost. That being said the officiating was fairly poor.

True. Should have played more of that, since we got beat from 3 pt territory playing man anyhow.

Correct…and again nobody is claiming the refs cost Baylor the game. I'm not so sure why that's so hard for you to understand. Poor defense, poor shooting, and the horrendous effort rebounding the ball gave Baylor little chance to pull off the road win.

I think travelling coast to coast after the West Virginia game cost us some energy.

Hope sleeping in the home beds helps recharge the team.

We were in it till Walter's blocked shot toward the end and BYU answering with a 3.

Oh wow. And I made the comment in the first half that he was moving in all directions showing no signs of hobbling or ankle issues. I missed it. What happened? Did he land on it awkwardly in the 2nd half?

That's the issue. Houston is prime for a zone. But I'm worried they'll literally out rebound us by 25 if we go primarily zone.
Than again if we go man Shead May break the layups made record

Doubt it at home. As bad as that was, road v home effort and concentration gap is big. Won't be shocked if rebounding is close. Tonight was terrible.. that doesn't change obviously

My worst nightmare realized, that he would rush back before he was 100% and reinjure it. Now back to square one. He might never be back to 100% this season, even if he is able to return.

You guys think that zoning a team that hit 14 3 pointers is a viable gameplan?

Nobody said anything about it being a "game plan", but since our game plan was clearly getting destroyed at the defensive end, why at not at least try it try it as a way to at a minimum stop the frequent penetrations and back cuts? Similar to going to the bullpen when your starter is obviously getting lit up.

here u go again, excuses, excuses, excuses,,,sleeping in a strange bed cost us the game,,at least you got off the
referee collusion excuse...just say it , we stunk it up in every way,,,,

I hate to armchair quarterback this, but I wouldn't have played Langston tonight. I said as much in the game thread Saturday.

Coming off back-to-back cross country flights, in a game that isn't necessarily a "must win," the downside (him getting hurt again, which he did) outweighed the upside.
IowaBear

Wish I had your confidence. With no Love I think we're going to struggle mightily scoring Saturday. Would likely even with him.
Houston I doubt has much issue scoring against us. Their guards will likely eat ours all game

Sticking with the baseball analogy, it would have been like going to a reliever who only throws offspeed stuff when they've been lighting up anything offspeed all night.

In fairness he did look healthy and ready to go. At least on Saturday. Granted that could have been misleading
