Weeks 0 and 1 have come and gone, with the newest national polls showing movement from the Big 12, with Baylor dropping altogether from the receiving votes section of one poll. Five Big 12 teams were ranked across both polls, with four featuring in each top 25.

The Baylor Bears did not receive a single vote in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Meanwhile, AP Poll voters gave the Green and Gold just two points, good for No. 43 nationally.

Other Big 12 teams receiving votes in the AP Poll were Kansas State (7 pts, No. 36), TCU (49 pts, No. 31) and BYU (102 pts, No. 26).

Baylor’s week one opponent, Auburn, garnered 94 points and No. 27 in the AP on top of 41 points and No. 32 in the Coaches Poll.

Speaking of the Coaches Poll, Baylor did not receive a single vote in this one while Kansas got four points, TCU 33, Kansas State 78 and Utah 117.

The two teams that make up one of the best rivalries in college football, “The Holy War,” are flipped by the two major polls. Utah is No. 25 in the AP and No. 26 in the Coaches Poll. BYU is No. 25 in the Coaches Poll and No. 26 in the AP Poll.

Beyond that, the ranked teams for the Big 12 are the same and only differ in rank slightly.

Arizona State is No. 12 in the AP and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll after beating Northern Arizona 38-19.

Iowa State made the biggest move for the conference, jumping up six spots to No. 16 in the AP and up three spots to No. 18 in the Coaches. Wins like 24-21 over formerly ranked Kansas State and 55-7 over South Dakota will do that for you.

Finally, Texas Tech beat Arkansas Pine Bluff 67-7 and traded spots in the polls. The Raiders moved down one spot to No. 24 in the AP and up one spot to No. 23 in the Coaches.

Outside of the Big 12, No. 17/16 SMU should be noted as the Bears’ next opponent. The Mustangs dropped a single spot in the AP after beating East Texas A&M 42-13, staying put at No. 16 in the Coaches Poll.
