Can't believe we won that

Between the refs and awful defense…that's a hell of a fight to put up and win!

Don't know if I'm more happy or surprised, but it's a nice feeling.

I mentioned that due to our D, we would beat nobody notable this year. Well happily I am wrong. In my estimation anyone in the Top 25 is notable.

We broke that string of not beating ranked teams too!!

Honestly, I'm not an Aranda fan. But am very happy that we beat a notable team for the first time in a long time. I can't picture many fans that would be disappointed with the win.

Can the people on here who just blast and blast and blast give credit to a team that goes in the road and beats #17 with an absolute lucky SMU first play of game

Were people blasting the team or the terrible calls by the coach?

Relying on 14-point comebacks in six minutes probably isn't a sustainable way to win games. But I'll sure as hell take it today.

Great effort by the Baylor Bears after a frustratingly awful start.

Everyone is happy about the win. It's completely erroneous to think that people want us to lose simply because they don't believe very strongly in Dave as a coach. But credit where it's due, it was absolutely a good win for Dave

Or better yet, let's play from behind in every game this season. Appears to be a winning formula!

Yep I guess that sorta goes hand in hand with the notable thing. Reminds me of tennis when Vitas Gerulaitis had lost to Jimmy Connors 15 straight times and beats him on the 16th try. He said, "Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 16 times in a row."

Great plan, scheming a late comeback win in OT to build confidence in the team and gain big momentum going towards conference play.

That was clearly the plan all along.

Pure genius.

It's funny, I don't believe in Aranda as a gameday or scheme guy, but I believe in the culture he has built at Baylor.

Surround him with great Xs and Os guys and he can be successful.

We've already done it on offense. He needs to bite the bullet and do it on defense now.

You never know. There are always 2 or 3 out there living in a van down by the river who may not be celebrating.

This would be such a huge win if we could pull it off.

Dave Aranda would get lots of apologies ... including from me. Haha.

I'm not apologizing... You shouldn't either

Yeah, apologize to ensure that we are in the same position next year and thereafter

If we can't celebrate top-20 road wins, what are we even doing here?

But we have to win it because there are no moral victories.

100%. Plenty to criticize in this game...but we are walking out with a ranked road win against a team that was in CFP last year and returning their QB.

I think a lot of us are happy to be wrong about this one.

What a win.

I always hear about terrible calls…as if we are there and have been there all week at practice game planning. It wasn't pretty but this team fought and credit should be given to Aranda…kids love to play for him…period

I blast all the time. And in my opinion deservedly so when the defense is that porous. That said, the comeback was excellent and the 2nd half coaching job stellar.

One that surprised me is that SMU had only single coverage on an NFL caliber wide receiver late. And it cost them dearly.

I'm happy we won!

Rankings are meaning less though. Especially this early in the season.

I have no clue why SMU opted for single coverage on him late in the game. But glad they did.

if you think our defense is bad...anyone watching the Okie St Oregon game.

Oregon has 250+ yards (160+ rushing) and there is still 5:00 left in the 1st quarter. Okie St defense is non-existent.

I hear the negativity and most of the time I steer that way. But regardless of how early it is, we still beat a ranked team.

I know our defense was bad but if Redding and Coleman don't make those key plays in the end zone we lose. Probably by a lot. Way to gut it out.
