I do not think I have ever heard one year described as a millennia or so, but you do you.

Oops. I was relaying what an announcer said.

I believe it was fourteen years the last time they beat Iowa in Ames. They have won on the road at least a couple of times since then, including last year

Iowa State's home field advantage has not been very advantageous for the Cyclones as they are 821 in CyHawk games played in Ames. Through 2024, ISU's last victory in Ames came in 2011 and Iowa State has only won three CyHawk games in Ames in the past 20 years. The Cyclones have found more success on the road as four of their last five wins have come in Iowa City (2012, 2014, 2022, and 2024).

Got that off the Iowa State site. The Cyclones may be a handful this year

CW is fine. It beats ESPN Plus any day of the week.

My antenna did not always have the best reception. Frustrating to have it black out, especially when I missed key plays.

Try this one. Amazon or Wal Mart, about $40. Indoor or outdoor, outdoor is better.

A basic flat indoor antenna will do in most cases, depending on your location, but sometimes you gotta do a little bit of work. But it is well worth the effort.

I mentioned that due to our D, we would beat nobody notable this year. Well happily I am wrong. In my estimation anyone in the Top 25 is notable.

We broke that string of not beating ranked teams too!!

Yep I guess that sorta goes hand in hand with the notable thing. Reminds me of tennis when Vitas Gerulaitis had lost to Jimmy Connors 15 straight times and beats him on the 16th try. He said, "Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 16 times in a row."

Those two were a hoot. Not a big tennis fan but we hosted the WCT Finals party at Papagayo for two years. Vitas was hilarious.

Wish I could have met him but he was just a bit before my time. Slightly.

Great win today! Sure beats losing. My frustrations with Coach Aranda remain, but I admit the players seem to never give up the effort no matter the circumstances. Defense played somewhat better in the 2nd half. Lack of a better run game could spell trouble for the offense at some point.

Quarterback great. So calm in the pocket with a rocket arm and accurate most of the time. Excellent receiving core. Can we expect Sawyer to throw it 55 times a game? I simply don't see a better quarterback around.

Finally I would remind everyone concerning Aranda's decision making and maybe Spavital that they chose Dequan Finn over Sawyer Robertson at the beginning of last season for two games and he could not throw the ball at all. Looking at Sawyer throw the football, with his calmness in the pocket, his throwing motion, I do not know how that decision was possible. Most of us on this board could have seen which was the more accomplished passer.

Still I will try to remain optimistic as we move forward this year and hope the staff can make the corrections necessary to put the team in a good place.

I'm with you on DeQuan Finn. How in the heck did that happen other than the NIL they committed to him. That should have never been a deciding factor

We owe them a few good blowouts. Would be nice to run them out of their own stadium 49-21 or 62-22.

I agree. Impressive they did that without our most talented player (Trigg), Sawyer extremely hesitant to run, and Washington obviously injured.

Oh and Hawkins is such a good college player.

I would love to win in Ft Worth by 49-0 or more. I want to see a shut out. I know this is a pipe dream. Our d Ed e won't shut out anyone, especially on the road.

Yeah, but the offense could be potent enough later in the season to score fast and quick and maybe get enough momentum to build off of early. One can dream, and lots of season and tests ahead.

In the 2nd half (particularly toward the end), our defense stepped up. I wasn't able to watch a lot of this game, had to listen to some on the radio. But toward the end, the defense began giving up fewer rush yards, seemed to be closer to 4 ypc than 7. Did they put 8 in the box?
