What as a fan can we realistically do? We need a change.

there really is nothing we can do. The board of Regents totally screwed us over a decade ago and brought in a bonehead DEI hire to be our president who doesn't care about sports at all. We are stuck with this mess until she is gone until Mac is gone, and until several members of the board of Regents are gone.

This.

The best thing you can do as a fan is check out. Close the wallet, stop buying merch, and let your season tickets go.

The last 12 minutes of this game was reminiscent of the bad old days.
Friends, I firmly believe that anything short of what Reality recommends here will not resonate with Baylor leadership...and even that isn't a given.

Exactly. They need to see empty seats, when they aren't too busy hanging out in their luxury suites and Baylor club hangouts where you can't even see the field, and the bottom line from loss of revenue due to low ticket sales, concessions and (if he isn't gone by end of season)season ticket renewals.

But they won't care what us poor peasants think. They didn't care when big money donors left a decade ago as it gave their clique more power.

No way we beat Utah or Houston based on how they played tonight. Even the other 2 will be tough.

I don't necessarily want to lose him because I think he's a decent athlete, but he has not shown very good instincts for the position, at least this year. Whoever said that he was a mini Cam Skattebo is guilty of telling tall tales

I do think that the threat of a mass exodus of younger players to the portal would eliminate that lame "don't fire Dave because of the recruits" defense that I've seen people use

Let's start with Knighten making a decision not to *****foot through the hole on every inside run. If his dad is talking about the portal, he's already got one foot out the door.

Sounds like entitled bull**** by a guy who hasn't come remotely close to living up to the hype this season.

"Mini Cam Skattebo"

I couldn't think of a more opposite comparison.

I've been a lifelong college sports over professional sports guy. I continue seeing myself drift more and more toward becoming a professional sports fan over college. Professional sports at least have some structure guiding it. College sports have become the abyss.

Whatever is happening on the practice field that the players are seeing is not translating to the field on game day. Sign of bad coaching. Just from what I've seen in the eight games we've played this year, I couldn't think of a more opposite comparison than Skattebo. Skattebo loves contact, Knighten sprints backwards to avoid it. But maybe he would look better in a different offensive system, I really don't know

Keep in mind these were defensive players comments. Little did we know this would be literally one of the worst D1 defenses. Puts things more into perspective. He probably did look like Skattebo bouncing off of them like RBs have all season

Our offense probably looks like absolute world beaters when they face our defense in practice.

That makes sense. Stephen Hawking could look like Cam Skattebo against our defense.

Watched the game and read the running commentary in this thread. Didn't post anything because there really wasn't much to say that had not already been said during the game.

Will CDA be fired? IDK as it apparently depends on money for the buyout and I have no idea whether any big money donors want to pay for his buy out or whether funds from the athletic department can be used for that.

If the contract is bought out, then I reckon that means less money for NIL and new coaches.

It is one big mess.

I wish the decision makers luck because they are going to need it to find their way out of this… assuming they want to find a way out of this.

If it is hard to pull the plug because of money, it should be a sign that if the money is rough without buying Aranda out, it will probably be another trip into the wilderness if they do and can't afford to. . I suppose if this is all true, the actual repercussions of the 16 decisions are only now really coming home to roost. In other words the shockwave from blowing everything up may just be hitting now.

Either way they're losing money. Look at the empty seats. Look at the crappy time slots and lack of big games that draw money, and look at the future stars that could change things that are no longer interested.

Donors are done underwriting this clown show for the time being. If they want to replace the three amigos with competent individuals who aren't going to be allergic to playing championship football, reach into the budget to get it done.

Yeah. BU may be in a position where they can't afford to buy CDA out... and they can't afford not to buy CDA out. Tough spot.

If they do decide to fire CDA then BU is in a position where they have to hire a guy who can do more with less (ala CAB, Cignetti) and those guys are VERY rare. Many giant state schools have trouble hiring coaches that perform up to expectations and hold onto their job despite massive resources. Throw the new world of NIL into the mix and it is very difficult to chart a course. If you use 8 million (or whatever the number is) on a CDA buyout that is 8 million you can't use for NIL or a new coaching staff.

Very difficult to make a decision given that college football's future is very uncertain with the possibility of new NIL rules in the future.

I hope BU makes the right call. I don't know the buyout and have no idea who the next CAB or Cignetti is so I'm just gonna watch and see what happens.

I suspect that is the case but don't have any inside information. I suspect there are a lot of moving parts to this train wreck so I'm just gonna sit back and watch.
