Meanwhile, look at what McCasland has going on in Lubbock. TTech is looking more and more like a possible FF team.
McCasland is competent and has a real competitive fire. He's what Drew once was.

This is bad, Im starting to think Drew might be coasting into the sunset. Even with injuries I can't believe this is what he's put together.
I wish he had done his sunsetting at Kentucky.
It would have given us a chance to hire a new coach before our program was back in the ****ter.
Still can't decide if Rhodes hiring a coach or this would be worse

We have had a good run for a long time, and this year stinks. Some of us appear to be fair weather fans only, which speaks for itself, especially for those criticizing our coach. Below are the tip of the iceberg concerning the honors he has earned.
Drew joined Gene Keady (Purdue) and Jay Wright (Villanova) as the only high-major coaches to win three-straight conference coach of the year honors from 2020-22. In 2024 he was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches with the Award for Leadership.
He gives you like 3 good plays then hides until garbage timebear2be2 said:
Yessefou is the king of scoring a flurry of meaningless points late in a loss to make a bad game look better than it was.
He's done it like five times this season.

We've been on a downward trend for 3 years and about to hit the bottom of the barrel with a .500 record with an overpaid Coach / Staff and a lot of NIL resources tied up in really bad players...

Maybe we need to start playing a full court press the entire game

Thanks for your input, Homer. But your son is stealing money from Baylor University with the product he's putting on the floor this season. And he has yet to articulate any plan for how he intends to get us off this treadmill we're on.

It's time to admit it. NIL has destroyed Baylor sports.

Many of yall are letting your (very valid) frustrations with the football program to cloud your judgement on the men's basketball program. This year's team is absolutely a bad team. No doubt about that.
However the metrics for the last few seasons, yes even last year's team, all show the same solid but not spectacular program we were in the few years leading up to the national championship run.
The program is still well funded and attracts high level talent. If we have another bad year next year, sure that'll be something incredibly worrying.
But our football and men's basketball programs are not in the same league of precariousness. We don't need to equate the two.

Baylor's inability to adjust to NIL has destroyed Baylor sports.
Other programs with no more resources than we have seem to be doing just fine.
We're just behind the times and unable to adapt.

It's not about adaptation. Not anymore. It's about money. Scott drew was on the paying players band wagon day one. Football was about being slow to adjust but basketball shows we don't have enough money. If we had 3.5 million to keep rob wright this season doesn't happen. We didn't have it and it happened. It's really that simple.
