Baylor 72, Kansas State 66 with 17.9 seconds to play. We all can agree this was way too close for comfort today for the Baylor Bears.

Maybe this was good for the team, to wake them up right before tourney time

If you want a rebound in this game, be prepared to get hammered. The refs seem like they are trying to move this game along.
Gotta have enough time to wipe down the arena before the evening games.
I guess so. As physical as this game has been, I am glad we have a badass like Mark Vital on our side.

They've allowed both games to be physical so far. Just need to adjust your game to the way it's being called.

Think how much time they're gonna need after the herpes bandits play tonight.

Yeah, they are lucky Tech plays last, they can spend all night wiping down the arena if needed.

They need a team meeting. What happened today should never have happened, and they better take the lesson seriously.

Was Flagler among one of the players who was positive and actually got sick earlier in the year? Seems after his first pause he hasn't been the same.. still solid D. Many hands to feed and all that of course but just a little off from earlier. Could just be moving up to high level D1 late in the year can fatigue you until you get used to it.

If you want a positive out of today's game, we went 13-14 at the line.

Going to write this off as being mentally tired after a stretch of tough games against ranked teams.

New day tomorrow.

This could be a good thing for this team and hopefully wake them up.

Yeah, we shot the ball very well today. 53% FG, 41% 3PT, 93% FT. It came down to 21 turnovers (7 from Butler, 6 from Mitchell) and allowing K-State to get 13 offensive rebounds.

Yeah, against a hot and hungry Oklahoma State team.

"Writing this off" would be a mistake.

Bears need to take this as a challenge.

His inability to stay with his man led to 14 points in the paint by KState when Flo and JTT came out to help. Not sure what solid D you're talking about. But I do agree -- he's not been the same since returning from COVID.

Well a W is a W. On to the Semifinals. But play that that again tomm and we get ran out of KC by 30. Fully expect a better effort tomm.

Survive and move on I guess. We better bring our "A game" tomorrow as well as OSU is playing (and for the first time we're going to have to deal with Cunningham and Likeley at the same time). Most of the rest of the conference would've beaten us today.

I didn't really see much of this game.. only saw a few minutes. He's been okay in conference on D from what I've seen. I mean his offensive rhythm is really off and it stood out in the few minutes I saw and has been like this for the last month and half.

Survive and advance. Pretty much summarizes what we saw on ESPN today.

Offensive shooting is fine. Gotta get rid of the lazy turnovers. Looks like they're allowing the tournament to be played at a physical level rather than ticky tack fouls, so need to be ready to stay with Cunningham.

Seriously? Team meeting!?..thats a bit much..how bout watch film and clean up the turnovers...thats a Hall of Fame coach on the other sideline that had a good gameplan.

His body movement and shot release almost appear in slow motion to what it was before the COVID break. Have no idea whether or not he's one who had it, but the unexplainable change in his movement, release and, as you said, rythmn would lead one to believe that perhaps he did. He's pivotal to our run in the NCAAs so I hope he gets it going soon!
DanaDane
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Agree with you on the offensive end. T/Os can get cleaned up. Starting to get a little worried on the other end, though, as it has been a persistent theme since coming back from the COVID break.

Bottom line: Baylor defeats Kansas State for the 3rd time in Big XII MBB during 2021.

I guess Ill have to watch the game but I caught some of the middle of the second half and I don't remember anything directly attributed to him and he was playing the lead guard and was decent to solid. I'll have to watch it in full but seems like the conditioning is off or just worn down from end of season at high D1 level.

In spite of the frustration of not winning by as much as we usually do, the fact remains -- WE'RE SPOILED!

The win makes it: 48 and friggin' 5 over the past two years. Think about that -- how many teams have gone 48-5 over a two year window? AMAZING!

Next week really matters to me. And frankly so does winning the Big XII Tournament, especially after last season.

Win. Them. All.
