Two years ago they could have held off.

Switzer was a 6th round pick who not only would have been a WR replacement for Beasley, who they arent going to resign, but can return kicks and punts and take them to the house which Beasley never could do.

Instead we traded him to Oakland for Jihad Ward who didnt even make the team even with our interior DL issues going into the season, meanwhile Switzer is getting significant playing time in Pittsburgh.

System for the Cowboys wouldn't have utilized Switzer and they didn't, so it was another wasted pick they used to do nothing with in the trade.

Disagree...he was already a KR/PR and would have been more productive than Tavon Austin who in essence is his replacement on the roster. And you would have him for two more years on a rookie contract instead of Tavon and maybe Beasley on veteran contracts.

System has nothing to do with his utilization, Linehan being stubborn about using young players is what would have drove his under utilization.

hopefully Sherman got his arse whupped in all that chaos...

Coach Jason Garrett insists "anybody who is healthy and ready to play is going to play" Week 17 against the Giants. That can be taken a number of different ways and leaves an "out" for Garrett, as no starter is 100% healthy this time of the year. Guys could use some rest, and the last time we saw Dallas in this situation with nothing to gain in Week 17, Ezekiel Elliott dressed but didn't play, and Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant played a couple series. It was essentially treated like a preseason game. Elliott is not going to get a full workload in his game, even if he is active. The Cowboys are already locked into the NFC's No. 4 seed and have far more to lose than gain Sunday.

Cowboys activated CB C.J. Goodwin off injured reserve. It's an ominous sign for slot CB Anthony Brown, who is dealing with a back injury and may not play in Week 17 against the Giants.

Murchison doesnt have the votes against the powerful Redskins franchise that have the South locked up. He finds out "Hail to the Redskins" is not owned, purchases it and trades it to the Skins for their vote. By the time the franchise is awarded, they decide to go with Dallas Cowboys rather then the Rangers
- April 1960: Cowboys set up headquarters at 4425 N. Central Expressway, where they leased the second floor of an office building from the ground-floor tenant Dallas Automobile Club. The building also housed the Cowboys' box office, where inaugural season-ticket prices were $27.60 for six games.
- 1960-62 seasons: Cowboys primarily practice at Burnett Field, home of minor league baseball's Dallas-Fort Worth Rangers; some practices are held at DISD-owned Cobb Stadium.
- 1960-1971; Cowboys use Cotton Bowl for NFL games

Jane Slater of NFL Network reports the Cowboys will rest Ezekiel Elliott against the Giants in Week 17.
RG Zack Martin will also get a breather. With the Cowboys locked into the No. 4 seed, it makes sense for them to rest their starters ahead of next week's playoff opener at Jerry's World. Barring a career game from Saquon Barkley, Elliott will finish as the league's rushing champ for the second time in three years.
