well, that took the air out the sails. The better team lost yesterday due to a poor offensive game plan, some really bad officiating and a no-show from our latest multi-millionaire. The good news is we dont have to worry about an undefeated season anymore and we get to beat Green Bay next Sunday.

I know that Zeke is the easy target but I would offer you that Frederick, Martin, and Williams got their asses kicked last night and if they aren't able to move people then Zeke is going no where. I can't count on one hand last night when the OL their DL off the line of scrimmage. Now I also think that Zeke is heavier and therefore slower than his rookie year and would like him to get back to that form where he looked like Sequan Barkley before Sequan.

Probably more than anything though, I don't understand why Kellen was determined to run so much ISO on first down, especially when it was clear we were not getting a push.
there were multiple targets there, Zeke was just one. We overpaid him, we expect to get something the world has never seen before.

Tyron's days of handling speed rushers seem to be dwindling a bit. He really has a hard time sliding. Fleming looked like a rag doll being tossed around as his backup. LT is gonna be an issue

Tyron has been on borrowed time for a while now but he isn't the only worry on that left side. You and I have both said that Williams is a OT, not an OG, and now that we have paid Collins, I get the sense maybe the Cowboys know they might have a mistake at Left OG.

In terms of Zeke being overpaid, I get it, no one likes to pay a RB like that in this day and age but its either pay what the market bares or have him stay out and roll the dice. Besides it does sound like Stephen put some good off ramps in the contract if need be.

NFLPA should wash their hands of him and should take away any retirement benefits

Cowboys placed S Kavon Frazier (pec) on the injured reserve list.
The Cowboys were hopeful that Frazier could avoid surgery and simply rehab his injury, but that won't be the case. Their backup safety will undergo surgery Tuesday and miss the remainder of the 2019 season. It's bad news for the depth of the Cowboys' safety room, particularly when considering that the position is already their weakest on the defense.

Garrett, in his regular Monday visit on 105.3 The Fan, was asked by my guys "Shan & RJ'' if a run-first plan was something Dallas "put more at the forefront.''

"I don't know that it was put more on the forefront,'' Garrett responded. "We obviously want to run the football and we want to attack through the air. And that was the plan going in was to try and do both. That's always really our approach, attack both ways. We try to do that throughout the game. We had some success at different times doing each, it wasn't consistent enough throughout.''

Ezekiel Elliott totaled 35 yards on 1.8 yards per carry.

Interesting - Andy Frederick said that the Saints knew the Cowboy signals. They would into the exact gaps once the play started. This is something a Coach much catch and adapt to

I thought that possible. I've never seen the Saints defend the run like they did Sunday. Sean is not a favorite of Goodell since the 2012 bounty hunting issues. Sean is capable of this type of gamesmanship.

Cowboys have signed former Green Bay safety Josh Jones to their practice squad to help them offset the loss of Kavon Frazier. They haven't decided what to do with Kavon's spot on the 53.

I thought they called up one of the rookie practice squad safeties.

Barring a setback, Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is expected to play Sunday vs. Packers. He missed two games.

Practice today - Connor Williams (RT) and Cam Fleming (LT) are with the first team and Xavier Su'a-Filo is LG.

(not sure what this means - no Collins?)

Larry Brown first quarter report card:
Dallas Cowboys (3-1) A-
The Cowboys looked great against inferior opposition in the first three weeks of their season, but a dreadful offensive performance against a New Orleans Saints team without Drew Brees raised new questions. The defense looks stout, and Dak Prescott had been playing at an incredibly high level before that performance against New Orleans. The bet here is that the Cowboys are much closer to the version that pounded opponents in their first three games than the toothless squad that played against New Orleans. They'll have to show it in upcoming games against Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is out for Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys due to a toe injury, the team announced on Friday.

Adams injured his toe in the Packers' Week 4 loss to the Eagles on Sept. 26. The two-time Pro Bowler has tallied 25 catches for 378 yards this season. He has not registered a touchdown.

Cowboys DL Tryone Crawford (questionable, hips) is expected to play in Week 5 against the Packers.
Crawford missed the last two games with bursitis in both hips. He'll try to play through it Sunday, but surgery looms if he has another setback. Even on limited snaps, Crawford's return is an upgrade to the defensive line.
