I'm beating my head against the wall. This is so ridiculous!

Pathetic if true
Only if you want to rewrite history.Hotsauce said:
If it's true that Jerry had a hard time letting Garrett go because he respects him and considers him family...I'd like to point out that he kicked Landry's azz to the curb without batting an eye back in '89! LOL

So you don't think Landry deserved a better farewell? Interesting considering he WAS the Dallas Cowboys.

We're talking about Jerry here. What do you really expect with him as the GM?
Yep, Bright personally disliked Landry and how he was deemed untouchable. He even accepted a lower offer from Jones in order to ensure Landry was dismissed.Assassin said:Only if you want to rewrite history.Hotsauce said:

Bum Bright, Tex Schram and Gil Brandt all wanted him gone in in 1986. Landry agreed to retire at the end of the 86 season and they brought Paul Hackett in. Landry lied to them and kept coaching.
He said he would retire in 87 again, and once again it didnt happen. Tex refused to fire him as they had been friends for years.
When Bum Bright had to sell the club due to financial difficulties, his one stipulation was that Landry must be fired and could not be the coach. Jones took the job on himself and flew down to the golf course where Landry had disappeared to to tell him.
This is the actual history, not the revised one
So, now you know
Perhaps he had to get some **** in line before he let him loose.Hotsauce said:
It's pretty common knowledge that the game had passed Landry by and he had worn out his welcome, but my earlier point still stands.
It was a no-brainer to immediately fire Garrett (it was a no-brainer 2 years ago as well). His apparent internal struggle w/ that decision speaks volumes to the organizational problems that will continue to prevent on-field success.

I forgot about that. The little cheating thing.
I'll take him in a heartbeat - although the snowball in hell has a better chance of existing...Wichitabear said:
Yep. Lol I don't think we need him.
I would be there helping him under and overinflate the damn footballs, smear a little stickem on them when we had the ball and a little KY on the when the other guys did, put some superglue in the refs whistles, send EMPs out whenever the other coaches Red Flag comes out so they couldnt see the replay. You name it, Bearforce and I will be fixing the game! (had to include him, its his KY...)Wichitabear said:
Agree. You would take that cheating scoundrel! Lolol It would be tempting.
