This defense is completely undermanned and yet this offense has let them down at every turn starting with QB1

Going back to the same thing Jerry, you simply cannot commit so much of the cap to so few players, no matter the talent level. You have to draft folks that can step in and play right away when you lose someone. With 32 teams in the NFL, this is very hard. But other teams do it, why can't we?

Got to replace the coach. Got to do something about the General Management. It doesnt work the way it has been setup for quite a while. And Will McClay used to be the gem of scouting. What happened?

that hurts. And we keep blaming who we don't have. SF doesnt have the NFL's 2023 Offensive Player of the Year... how does that work?

Looking at who might be a good GM for Dallas. Who pops up? Will McClay. Over and over. The fella that could fix this might be in house. At least worth a look IF he is not the one making the final draft calls.

We lost. Great comeback with a bungled catch snagging us at the end when we had a chance to knock them off, but we didn't win.

However that helped us in the chase for a mid round draft pick, so there's that

Excellent news!

OT or RB?

Even if we had the #1 pick, doubt I would go QB, this is a bad QB draft. I would think that the first QB goes about 13, but with Dak doing that very cap eating and unfortunate contract, I dont see that happening.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams has been suspended three games without pay by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy, the team announced Monday.
The suspension began during the Cowboys' loss Sunday night against San Francisco. He will be eligible for reinstatement Nov. 11, after the Cowboys' Week 10 game against Philadelphia. The suspension will cost Williams $423,000 in lost earnings.

Williams is currently on injured reserve with a torn ACL and partially torn MCL suffered in training camp.
In August 2023, Williams was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and the unlawful carrying of a weapon, Frisco police said at the time. In January 2023, Williams was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving for his role in a car crash in Plano. He was accused of driving as fast as 98 mph in a 55 mph zone, weaving between vehicles, in the final seconds before colliding with a vehicle that turned in front of him.

BPA, which right now in my mocks keeps coming up as WR, which we could use honestly.

I would probably reach for an OT over a WR, if I were the GM. Steele is really bad and not quite sure how Guyton is going to pan out with all his penalties

Got to give Guyton time and the problem with Steele is you paid him. From what I am hearing this is a good OL draft, especially in the interior so you can look for Zach Martin's replacement as I suspect he is going to retire.

I hope not. Unlike our OT T. Smith, he is still darn near his prime. Great stats. But he is long in the football tooth

A look back, 2013 from the Dallas Morning News:

The reported surplus of offensive and defensive line prospects in this draft seemingly plays right into the Cowboys' hands. They can go either way, but they'll need at least one more lineman to protect Tony Romo, and probably two. Once again: The Cowboys can get to the Super Bowl with Romo at quarterback, but not with that offensive line. No team gets to the Super Bowl with a bad OL. …

Cam Ward looking pretty good against a 6-2 Duke team. Gets his passes off very quickly. Last one was 1.9 seconds. Seems pocket aware and mobile enough to move around. Right handed but can throw from his left too. Kind of Mahome's like in that respect, throw from any angle.

I think he will make a decent NFL QB. Probably best to sit for a year or two... HINT JERRY...

My latest mock. Starting to think that we need to plan for Post-Dak years. In other words, I am writing off the Cowboys for the next couple of years. Traded back three times in the first but only moved from 13 to 18. Picked up 2 seconds and 2 third for 2026 in doing so.

Got my OT from LSU, Will Campbell, an excellent LB Barrett Carter and WR Chris Brazzell from UT (Tenn). That's a solid 1, 2, 3. Don't know too much about Raheim Sanders, the RB from SC but also picked up Trey Moore from UT (Tex), an Edge that I remember from the Okie-UT game and sixth round OG and DT.

2026, we need to draft a QB that has some upside. All those extra picks could help us move up

When I was in 1st grade I signed up for Pop Warner at Murphy Chandler Park. My dad took me to see my first game, we beat the Bears by 40. From that moment I was locked in and pretended I was Tommy Nobis.

Sic'em on Saturday.

But Sunday, y'all strap up.

Rise Up! Go Falcons!

My God, but we're gonna miss him... hope Dalvin can make up his 6 carries a game...
-----
The Dallas Cowboys will be without running back Ezekiel Elliott on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday that Elliott did not travel with the team and has been benched for disciplinary reasons.

It's not currently clear what those reasons are but Sunday will mark the first time Elliott will miss a game as a healthy scratch for Dallas before the team clinching a playoff spot.

Cowboys leading rusher Rico Dowdle is expected to handle the bulk of carries in the backfield on Sunday in Atlanta. The team also called up Dalvin Cook from the practice squad for the second straight week.
