I would typically agree if Thomas was 26 years old. But to get Thomas, they are going to have to give him a 4 year deal whether that is this year or next. I would rather give a 4 year deal to a 28 year old Thomas than a 29 year old Thomas. Assuming his level of play slips by age 31-32, signing him this year gets one extra year in his prime.
