The fact that anyone from TCU can utter Year of our Lord makes me snicker.

Which is funniest:

A. That TCU is so triggered by the name Briles
B. The hypocrisy given they already have Kaz
C. Losing by the largest margin in bowl history that happened to be in the biggest stage
D. All of the above

Kendal Briles recently decided to stay at Arkansas after a few teams made a run at him.

Now, @frogstoday is reporting TCU and Briles are in ‘deep discussions’ for Horned Frogs OC spot.

Briles original contract had him with Hogs until February, until recent developments

Because TCU just proved by making the national title game that it has a significantly higher ceiling than Arkansas, which will never be better than fourth or fifth fiddle in the SEC West.

I say we take a chance on KB, especially if Aranda can vouch for him. CAB was the main "culprit" [I think he was a scapegoat] …but blacklisting anyone from Baylor just because they have any sort of connection with him sounds extreme. Maybe by doing so we can have and not have CAB at the same time - pleases everyone.

Jeff Lebby likely wants to beat Baylor just as bad. He's 0-2 and was held to seven points with a top-15 Ole Miss team.

I think K. Briles has been tremendously successful. He turned around the offense at Florida international and had Houston as one of the top offenses in the nation. Arkansas was as bad as Vanderbilt when he got there, and they are now reasonably competitive in the SEC west. I don't think Pitman allows him to do everything he did at his prior stops, which is possibly why he might consider leaving. I think he would be a great hire for anyone.

The faux moral superiority TCU fans have attempted to lord over Baylor for the past 7 years was always bluster, and this proves it. I hope they hire Kendal, just so we can see the logical gymnastics they try to go through to justify the hire after trashing everything to do with the Baylor program in that era.

On top of it all, Art was the real mastermind behind the Baylor offense's success. I've never been terribly impressed with Kendal as an OC outside of his father's staff, if we're being perfectly honest.

Little Briles is a good OC. To people criticizing his statistics at Arkansas just look at Arkansas' stats before he showed up with Pittman. More teams have experience facing the veer and shoot nowadays with Ole Miss and Tennessee running it as well, which makes 50 points a game a little harder to come by.

Maybe it was just the game I watched but the pace did seem a tad slower than what he did at Baylor. That could be Pittman trying to rest a secondary that got torched this year.

TCU could be interested. His name leaking could be the university testing the backlash, a board member trying to prevent it, or Briles' agent looking for an extension at Arkansas.
