Dave just completely sucks at coaching a competant defense. These group of G5 level guys just dumping on Dave here. Confused, out of position, stumbling over their own feet via terrible footwork, very poorly conditioned, bad angles, zero gap discipline. The dude is terrible at this.

Unfortantely the admin will ride with him so probably need to bring in a D coordinator that can actually coach and motivate. And yes, that will require the hire to be a little more loud and aggressive than Dave is comfortable with. Unbelievable.

Agreed. Dave's continued employment should be contingent on finding a Jake Spavital equivalent on the defensive side of the football.

It's time for him to hand all Xs and Os to qualified assistants and take over a CEO role as head coach.

We actually had a linebacker spy in the Auburn game. No one saw him because he took the wrong angle at least 4 times and gave up long runs by Arnold.

Dave already fired his former mentor who was our previous defensive coordinator partially for being too "tough love" like you're describing. Plus, the whole point of him taking the reins as defensive play caller was so his skill as a defensive coordinator could be put on full display.

But this defense is unacceptable regardless of what happens the rest of this game.
