I would never lose sleep over something that is over and I have no control.
Best quote I've seen in years. You've spent literally years, pages after pages (current threads as we speak), hundreds if not thousands of posts, an untold amount of your time/life telling us how much you "don't care about Briles". You, THEE, and a few other simpletons are obsessed.
He owns you. It's literally a guarantee that you will spend years more obsessed over Briles.
Will this thread cause the BoR to send out the bat signal? Does it trigger Keyser to come represent and earn that check? It's convenient when he shows up.
X just likes to argue. If it wasn't Briles, it'd be something else. That's what happens when you're a retired geriatric.
Let me elucidate X's schtick. He takes a "common sense", "folksy" approach to an argument in the absence of facts. Then, once facts come to light, he'll walk things back and say he was still "right" somehow. This is not new. He's normally a fence rider. And he's convinced he'll never be wrong because he can compare everything to something that happened/exists in Oklahoma.
I literally just summed up every post X has had on Bfans/Sicem.
I know how to get under your skin. I know you guys are disturbed that Art could not get another job to satisfy you while the rest of us wanted to see them get a quarterback killed.
Great thread.
Keep telling yourself whatever you need to and keep showing us what "not caring" looks like.
Your OWNED by a man who doesn't know your name. And trying to tell us otherwise. Sad life. Sad..sad..life.
I think Art owns you guys. I know he owns Rex. They control his son's pocket book. You guys are all personal buddies trying to defend him on a website that is for fans of a school he hates.
Baylor paid out millions on the advice of insurance carriers and underwriters thanks to your friend.
I have never road the fence. You guys cannot ignore this board or any poster that posts that Art got what he deserved (till this point).
I mean everybody has to acknowledge that Art and his staff are culpable of something. I never thought they were covering up rapes. Still don't. But they definitely were trying to hide the drinking and drugs from JA. Not really a revelatory experience in college athletics. They brought in SOME bad dudes and didn't do a good job keeping them out of trouble. No doubt about that and I've made my feelings known on the kids that shouldn't be in any college setting. Things snowballed and the regents freaked out and succumbed to the pressure. Really poor choices were made during the scandal.
But, like it's been said, this was a university problem. Baylor knew it. Some guy on Baylorfans wrote something like, "You guys are going to regret not making this a football problem." Something like that. Definitely someone connected to the BOR. They knew it was a university problem and they knew it went back decades. Baylor embarrasses me as an alum far too often. The reason is that so many of the people in charge are terrible at hiring. I've spoken with countless professors at Baylor and money is a huge issue. Baylor expects people to take a pay cut because of GOD. Baylor has to be a calling and not a profession. It teeters on cultishness. However, there are plenty of good, NORMAL people that work at Baylor and they all sort of shake their head like I do from time to time. We need people like that in charge and not the ultra conservative loonies. And we need the mega donors to open up the pocketbook for intelligent, qualified professors and staff.
I'm not far from your position.
1. Art wasn't perfect. He should have had a more disciplined approach. But that was no different than TCU, UT, OU or any 50 other P5 programs. Drug rings, abuse, "thugs" were in other programs during the exact same timelines. It's no excuse. But reality is most of those kids were great kids. We only highlight the bad apples because it fits the trolls narrative
2. He did not cover up or allow rape. This is a media driven hype and accusation and only the most extreme trolls on here propagate and repeat. (THEE, X, MV,). This is a crime. He'd of been arrested. It's NEVER been suggested in any forum of credibility.
3. This was a university wide problem. Our BoR panicked in how it was handled and went into personal "cover our ass" mode when the media started blowing it up. They fed into their trap. Even their own report showed conflicts of interest, meddling, lack of control by our BoR. No different than what they fired Briles for. They could have all come together, said "we are Baylor, we will fix these problems and be better". Football could have implemented same process as the school, and all point to a "new and improved". Instead they started pointing fingers for the same things they did and it's cost us hundreds of millions.
4. The trolls want to say "this story" is written. "Public Opinion" has spoken. Like that has any relevance of "facts". Briles has been under a confidentiality agreement, only one version has been told, and the only investigation was done and paid for by a BoR and with no transparency or even documentation to see...outside their self written FoF. Now we start seeing independent processes play out. Testimony under oath, depositions, etc tell a wider version of the story. Add the NCAA investigation (we will see what the results say, but I'm VERY confident it will not include cover up of rape etc) and the story over time becomes much more clear. What the trolls ultimately have working against them is what they counted on in the beginning. The media. The media LOVES a scandal, but they love a comeback story even more. Art will be the "comeback" story, Baylor will be the new focus of a scandal. If for no other reason, than it's the university is the bigger fish to fry now and they need the clicks.
Everyone should be for truth and facts. Those take years to come out. When someone tries so hard to tell you "the story is over"..that's a sure sign of an agenda.
