BREAKING: Baylor starting CB Raleigh Texada will return for 2021
Baylor senior cornerback Raleigh Texada was the most recent Bear to announce a return for the 2021 season. On Sunday afternoon, Texada released a video on Twitter with the announcement after getting feedback on his draft position at the conclusion of the season.
A member of Baylor’s 2016 recruiting class, the redshirt senior received an extra year of eligibity from the NCAA due to the COVID-10 pandemic that impacted college football in 2020. Texada has played in 39 career games with 29 starts.
Texada (5-10, 188) has recorded three interceptions in his career with 108 career tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks.
Texada joins fellow seniors Jared Atkinson, Xavier Newman and Trestan Ebner to announce they will return to play for the Bears in 2021. Junior linebacker Terrel Bernard also announced he would return after weighing a decision to go to the NFL.
