Team just isn't any good. Only 3 starters contribute. You get nothing from the bench. Team can't shoot

I agree. Wright and Nunn missed a few really good looks from 3. Roach couldn't hit a shot and had a few nice midrange looks. Team just straight up can't shoot.

Drew needs to take a 10% salary cut for pathetic roster construction.

He needs another 10 for coaching, this team is really poorly coached and it shows often.

There are times when it seems we are better from 3 with a hand in our face instead of being left wide open. Definitely need to rectify that with the portal this spring.

I would layoff CSD. He did not forget how to coach. I think this team probably very frustrating for him.

The players make some dumb plays.

The mistake were made with roster construction. Can only reset and make better personnel decisions next year.

Baylor played well against Houston, for those actually paying attention.

If we had been deeper, we'd have won.

If we had stayed hot from 3, we'd have won.

If a certain official had not used a very subjective version of 'tie up' to avoid calling obvious fouls by Houston, we'd have won.

Well, we wanted to avoid the 9 seed, this should do it.

Just stay healthy, see what we can do next week in the Big XII Tournament, then see if we can put some wins together in The Dance.

Can we please get some reading comprehension. Never once used the word good.

The only thing I said is we are making the tournament, which we 100% are. My goodness some of y'all are more annoying than a Monday morning alarm

Look I love Scott but he's not an elite teacher or tactician of the game. He never has been never will be, he's also not a discipline guy. These are all the things the team is very bad at this year. The fundamentals are awful, that's always on coaching when we have talent like we do on this roster.

End of the day he put together a staff that does not complement his skills but seems to double down on our worst atributes. But it's also the course we've been on for 3 years now. He has to massively shake things up. He squandered us being an elite program let's hope we don't slide back further.

You don't know Scott Drew, frankly.

I understand, we lose a game we wanted to win, all of a sudden we get a surplus of Eeyores.

But that post was garbage, son.

we probably are because of the conference we are in. It still counts, so you are correct.

Drew didn't forget how to coach, but roster construction is his responsibility. He did not do well with that this year.

Dude's hairline is receding faster than Kelvin backtracked on that promise to let him run the point at UH.

Yeah its crazy though because Sochan and Missi just exploded leaving major holes. Roach and Celestine were big misses and Nunn has regressed

Hard to believe at 18-13 we still make the tournament, even harder if we are 1 and done in the Big12 tourney. - so many misses this year, just not sure how "the report card" would be anything but a D or an F.

I suppose if you are gonna have a stinker of a season (or not to expectations), then you get it all out in the same year.

Wright 1-9
Nunn 2-7
Roach 1-6

This! Wright has feasted on cupcakes and been horrible against the top of the league for the most part. Roach has no showed all season so that's nothing new. The Rob Wright might declare talk can be put to bed. Also not in favor of giving him a huge bag to return if things turn into a bidding war

Any insights into the basketball NIL spend for this team this year?

Explain. Always light on any specifics I see. Again Nunn, Roach, and Wright were terrible shooting the basketball.

I don't think that is totally fair. He has been a little up and down, but worlds better than Roach. He is the only player other than VJ that can get into the paint. He is a Freshman playing starting Pg, not sure what you expected, but I'll take what he gave below.

Against
@ UCONN - 22
@Tech - 15,
@ ISU - 10
@ Arizona - 16
@ BYU - 22 - he was the only reason we were in that game.

IowaBear

What were his shooting percentages in those games? Honest question. Not sure why you referenced ISU fairly certain his shooting % was rather terrible that game. I'm not dogging Wright he after all is a freshman. But his poor play seems to get excused on here. I mean we literally have posters calling him "the best PG in the country" would expect more if that were actually true. I stand by my thoughts if he's not worth breaking the bank for NIL wise. No player is imo if your trying to build a contender

Sadly, this has by and large been the norm in conference especially against the non-bottom feeders and you can throw in Celestine being at best unreliable as well. We actually had good enough defensive effort and intensity to win that game and among all those missed shots there were plenty of open looks, short open jumpers, and layups to have been the difference - as has been the case in way too many games this season.

Not starting a pissing match here. I generally agree with 99 percent of your posts, this just wasn't one of them. I did a quick search on his scoring as I know he had been big in some tough games for us, but didn't look hard at his percentages. Feel free to report back.
There is plenty of criticism to go around with this squad. I don't think Wright is the best PG in America. I think he could be top 10 by his junior year. His limitation will always be his size. He was asked to come in and start because Roach was not getting it done at the one. He was supposed to be in a learning mode but thrown in before he should have been. He has been one of the bright spots of year IMO. Hope he stays, but no doubt he is going to get good offers.

Anyone suggesting that Drew is no good, should go, should be disrespected in any way: are you out of your freaking minds? How quickly you forget what he did over the past 20 years, especially the natty in 2021.

Our guys played great in the first half and kept things pretty close in the second. Against the conference champ and #3 in the country. If cites this season is a disappointment but we have no reason to conclude our successes are all behind us. There is no reason to think the regression is permanent. And we will be in the tournament with opportunities to advance.

On another note, WBB is playing great without Littlepage Buggs!

I actually did glance at Robs splits. You aren't wrong about UConn, BYU and a few others. Rob has played several fantastic games this year. Zero doubt about that. Hell I would go as far as to say Rob can be a top 3 PG by his Jr season. But like you said, he has his deficiencies that are going to be hard to overcome. The most glaring being his size. Hopefully he can add a good 10 pounds of muscle this off season without it affecting his quickness. I'm not dismissing Rob's entire body of work this year. My big concern is it appears teams have started to figure him out. Could just be a freshman slump.

That's what I figured, you have nothing. If you don't know the game say so. Combined shooting of 18% for those three is pretty damn specific
