TXU has a lot more pay for play money than Abylor does. Word is that the coach was able to talk couple of oil and gas people into donating significantly to the program this year. He is definitely loading up - if you have money you can make the early moves.

$$$$ since it's TCU, unlike what her father plastered all over internet it was all about more minutes, more playing time. TCU loaded with guards. Does the Hines' father think she will be a starter? Will be interesting. Heard TCU offered 1/2 mil.

Don't know if we recruited guard Janiyah Williams out of high school. She is former footballer Tevin Williams's sister and has entered the portal after one year at Oregon. She was a four star recruit and all state in Oklahoma's largest division. Might be worth a look, especially with family ties to Baylor.

Portal window April 6-April 20 for WBB. There will be bunch more in the transfer portal thru April 20. This is getting ridiculous. It has severely impacted/decimated a number of teams, Iowa State, Tenn, etc. NCAA has to do something to minimize the severe volatility and disruption. And death of mid-major programs.

ISU deserves maximum disruption on an annual basis. Easily the most obnoxious fan base in the B12. Not close.

Texas Tech fans would like a word.

I think we did recruit her out of high school.

We don't know their exact numbers regarding NIl. It's pure speculation to assume they have this stupid amount of NIl $$ invested in WBB as compared to Baylor. Baylor's had the NIL to bring in Scott and Vonleh. Those 2 definitely weren't cheap. Winning

Word is that TCU paid Miles more than we paid our entire roster. Hard to compete with that.

Janiyah Williams received early offer from Baylor in 2022 when her brother was playing FB at Baylor. But Baylor was not in her final 3 of Oregon, Ok State, and Tenn. Don't know the reason why she didn't have Baylor in her final 3. Avg 7.2 min, 2.8 pts, 0.6 reb, 0.1 ast at Oregon. Brother will be graduating from Baylor next month.

I'm sorry, I just don't believe that. I'd need to actually see the numbers to believe it. The numbers across the country are being heavily inflated by agents to drive price tags up.

Word was that Dave Aranda is a great FB coach.
There is a reason that every legitimate journal requires citations.

If cfadal heard it and felt like posting it here, that's the only citation I need.

Read several places TCU Nils paid Miles between $750K - $1 million to go there. Not as much as Chavez at OK, which was little over $1 million.

In case anyone cares…….

Miles had a few high $ NIL deals "in hand" such as PayPal and JBL which were payable without regard to which school she selected.
TCU NIL fund (formerly Flying T)(subsequent to House settlement folded into TCU Athletics) pays her a very significant amount but nowhere close to the numbers indicated above. In addition, some of the TCU direct payment amount is "to be earned"……she doesn't make appearance, etc. and the money isn't paid.

Agents love to float big numbers to bump the perceived value of other clients. Reality differs significantly.

TCU compliance has to approve each NIL contract (regardless if it is money they direct or NIL contracts directly negotiated by agents for clients) and report it to the CSC for review. This process is true at every school.

Miles is very well compensated. TCU pays a significant chunk of that money but another significant chunk was obtained directly by agents (but funneled through TCU as required).

Separate items: some money is deferred, some contracts are "total amounts" under a multiyear schedule with annual opt outs for both sides.

While not much of the NIL situation can be shoved back into Pandora's box, one thing I would like to see happen is to have a clear reporting requirement so that all of the coaches know real numbers. It seems like everyone from fans, to athletes, to athletic departments are constantly shooting in the dark.

I know it's still early in the portal window, but I don't like the silence since our first commit and Jada's visit.

The Bear Signal is the sign of a new commitment (in most Baylor sports). So likely that.

Zya Vann would be my guess. She was supposed to finish her visits early this week with Texas. Only other that we know of that has visited

Not sure I see TT being more than a back up. Trinity is interesting. Her shooting percentage is not great, but in line with what we've shot lol. She was a starter for Georgi, so have to imagine she is the starting PG. All three additions are not bad, but they aren't jumping this team up, so hoping that doesn't mean we aren't going for another good shooter in the starting lineup.

Note the players who were former teammates at Georgia Tech (during that breakout season) and dispersed to numerous other programs after Nell Fortner retired.

At least two Baylor targets played on that 2024/2025 Ga Tech team. Connections are important.
