Moore will be a graduate transfer.
She was in the same HS class as LC. Did she complete her degree in three (3) years?
Just saw her Twitter feed - she has graduated from USC...at 20 years old.

Good for her!! Super smart kid then on top of highly skilled. Thinking I'd rather see her here than Cooper and her potential drama. Chemistry is the key!!

Just found the answer to my question. Her sister apparently was a senior at USC this past season so she won't be there next season.
Her sister not being there anymore may be just one of the reasons she's leaving. Most of the real USC's roster is in the portal and that doesn't include the one who already bounced to G.Town.

Minyon (Great Name) Moore, 5'8" Point Guard at USC, is a really good player at both ends of the court. She averaged 14.8 points a game, with over 2.5 with the assists to turnover ratio, good shooter 43% and good free throw shooter at 77%. Quick and very fast with excellent ball handling skills. Strong defender and gets over 2.5 steals a game. Has only one season remaining, has started for three years. As far as I know there are no issues with this young lady. Certainly worthy of a meeting with my favorite basketball Coach. I don't know if she has graduated from Southern Cal or will be a red-shirt her first year. She should talk to both Chloe and DiDi. Interesting possibility!
Te'a Cooper might be more talented, but Minyon brings the type of intangibles (leadership and toughness) that coaches like KM and Vic Schaefer love.

I am guessing Minyon's only reason to transfer is to win. She is good enough I don't think she worries about playing time for us or MSU. MSU is not going to win though. If Oregon is telling her she is missing piece then they maybe front runner. I think our coach, Chloe's recent success and no true point guard give us a big edge. LC and rest of talent is a big factor. I hope transferring within conference would be to weird.

There's definitely not a bad choice. I guess I'm a lot higher on MSU tho.

Oregon has a really good PG coming over from Australia who is supposed to be very good - Jazz Shelley. I think there was even a time when JS was very interested in us too but I don't think it was reciprocated. I think our team our team makes the most sense for MM (needs pure PG- championship aspirations- great team unity- and won't have to play vs her old teammates 2-3x/yr). Hoping she picks us.

And yes I know Jordyn is coming but I see her as more of a 2.
Hoping MM and Honesty at PG.

Transferring in Conference is almost impossible, usually the conference either adds an additional year for a total of two redshirt years or just flat prohibit the transfer. I doubt the Graduate Transfer rules of the NCAA stop the conference from enforcing their own rules. This may well be the final year allowing graduate transfers as we know it.

Minyon Moore based on what I have read about her, appears to be Kim's type of player. However, Baylor may just play the hand we have been dealt, go with our current players all with a great attitude and outstanding team chemistry.

USC was a pathetic team. Oregon plastered them by 40. Cal killed em. But they beat ucla

Louisville just landed 2 transfers from G.Tech who are immediately eligible.

Last year Anriel Howard went from TAMU to MSU as a grad-transfer with no restrictions.

Aari McDonald went from UW to UofA and didn't lose a year of elgibility.

And if you want to be a sports announcer on television, choose Baylor. Just ask Double D!

The Cooper situation is just about a done deal from what I am hearing. So it looks like she will be the point next year.

It will be nice to see her at Baylor but I believe Msu losing four starters . She is basically going to be damn near guaranteed a starting spot on msu squad. But her best bet is Oregon or Baylor.
If Kim wants her she has a strong pitch in what Chloe did this year and where she was drafted.

What I have heard is that Cooper is good friends with Jackson and Richards, so that pretty much made that a no brainer

Why does it have to happen? We had 12 on roster last year and will have 11 next year. So back up to 12.

Not sure that a one-year point guard will have much of an effect on their decision to leave since none of them was heir apparent to the open pg position. We may lose some of the freshmen, but I think that it will be for other reasons. Just my 2 cents.

Minyon would be a best-case scenario for Baylor. I watched her in high school and always liked her better than she more lauded older sister. Was very underrated in high school due to variable factors. She is a legit top-level point guard, not a conversion.

Dwight Howard has never been married and is a devout Christian. He has five children by five different women.

I doubt we are in for any drama this coming season. What do you think fellow posters?

He's also being sued by a gay man who says they were lovers... not drama at all... i did read about ONE child who is 11, but not five... and that he has a pastor... but nothing about being a Christian

I dont really care.. that's none of my business. If she can play she can play I'm not worried about her celebrity status.

I have not seen Moore play, but as I recall there was at least a mention of Baylor interest in Cooper when she graduated from high school. I have seen her play several times and she is a very good point guard. She defends well and has an excellent midrange game. I did not think that she was selfish, but she can create her own shot as well or better than anyone we have had in quite some time.

I don't think that attitude is as much a problem when there is the kind of talent and leadership that Baylor possesses, and team chemistry is an established element in this cycle of athletes. A visit will help the staff sort this out. I would still love to see another frontline player of size come in as a transfer, but it would have to be a high quality player who is an immediate contributor, and I am not sure who that would be or if there would be mutual interest.

Minyon Moore is a graduate transfer from USC where there are reported to be six players in the transfer portal.
HerACL injuries occurred over 5 years ago and don't seem to hinder her play. In High School she played against Sabrina Ionescu and later played with her on a AAU team. This information comes from a Mississippi State fan posting on a Miss. State site.

Setshot.....do you know what is going on with the WBB program at USC?. Too many transfers.

FLASHBACK
June 6, 2017

"Tennessee transfer Te'a Cooper, the top-rated point guard in the Class of 2015, announced her commitment to South Carolina Monday after visiting over the weekend.

Cooper, an SEC all-freshman selection in 2015-16, sat out last season after tearing her left ACL in summer workouts. She will have to sit out the 2017-18 season as well after transferring from the Lady Vols, but will have two years of eligibility beginning in 2018-19.

The 5-foot-8 Cooper ... was a McDonald's All-American at McEachern (Ga.) High and originally committed to North Carolina. A close friend of Tennessee rising senior Diamond DeShields, Cooper committed to Tennessee on June 6, 2014; a week later, DeShields, who also considered USC after transferring from UNC, chose the Lady Vols."
