Yes, after months of argument and hazing and me telling you.

No, actually, you are acting immaturely by trying to assign the Astros' success to your arrogance. But whatever.

No, I said after the first week that exactly what's happening right now would happen. You can go back to page 1 for reference. This is now, and has been since opening day, the best team in the league.

I know what you said. I also know that not one of the Astros' victories was due to anything you said.

Serious question: Do you think Verlander is worth what it would cost to get him?
Serious answer. No, I don't. Don't think he'd be worth what it would cost to keep him, either.
Wayback Machine review: Verlander now has 3 playoff wins, and has allowed 4 runs, 5 bases on balls, and has 16 strikeouts in those games.

Really good deal for the Astros.

I did wonder whether a 10-8 3-plus era pitcher had enough left in the tank. He did. However, what really surprised me was that they did not have to give up more to get him. It did not cost what I thought it would to get him.

After watching every pitch of Game 1 twice, once live in the stadium and then again on DVR, and having watched every pitch of Game 2 once on TV and multiple highlights of both games on Fox and on MLB Network, I have come to the following conclusion... Houston is up 2-0 because they have been more fundamentally sound than New York has been.

While Keuchel and Verlander have been awesome, so have the New York starters and their bull pen has been amazing.... Houston has not outpitched or outhit the Yankees. What Houston has done better is play defense and run the bases.

It's great to see a team that pays such close attention to the little things get rewarded with 2 wins almost exclusively for that reason. Reddick getting the ball out of his hand in .7 seconds followed by Correa's technically flawless execution of the relay, and New York's total inability to execute the same play at anywhere near that level, coupled with Gardner jogging out of the box on what should have been an easy triple (a case can definitely be made that this is also the fault of the 3rd base coach for not stopping him at second with 2 outs} and Altuve going from first to home in 10.2 seconds, putting the Yanks under more pressure than they were capable of handling was just awesome to see

5 down and 6 to go

Go Astros!

Great observations. And don't forget in game one, Bird taking a very bad jump off second only to get thrown out at home on a perfect throw from Gonzalez. Not the series I was expecting, but it has been fun so far.

Thanks. It was a blast!! Such an intense game. Cheering on defense more than on offense was a change. More old school.

But the loudest cheer came on the game winner. That stadium is so good when it's good.

Great post all around.

And as one that was in the stadium, don't underestimate the crowd's role in ramping up the pressure on the Yankees in that relay. Whether that made Judge hurry and throw it offline, or Didi bounce the throw or Sanchez not handle I'm not sure, but I can't say it didn't have an affect on one of those things either. It was loud!

Lots of lineup changes for the Astros.

The standard top 4 when facing a left handed starting pitcher.
1. Springer CF
2. Bregman 3B
3. Altuve 2B
4. Correa SS

Then Hinch moves Gurriel up the 5 spot which I called for after Game 2 to my friends. But notice he's at DH:
5. Gurriel DH

Now here come even more changes ... with his first start at C in the postseason
6. Evan Gattis C

The batting slumpers now
7. Marwin 1B
8. Reddick RF (2 for 19 lifetime against Sabathia)

and since McCann is not needed at C or DH, he sits and you go for more defense.
9. Maybin LF
