4 over thru 14 holes (+6 total). He's done unless he can catch fire and shoot -7 on the last 4 holes.
They stopped play with him on 17 at +8....ouch
Ok....same course at Jack's house....but different tournament. Time for Memorial.
JW tees off at 12:33 eastern time tomorrow. He's got 400:1 odds to lift the trophy.

This should be a great tournament with the top nine guys in the world rankings playing and it's good to have Tiger back.
Course seems to be playing much tougher today than last week.
So far in the morning groups only 15 guys are under par. A lot of the big names are over par so far.

I saw reports that they intentionally made the course setup easier last week (moved up tees, easy pin placements, soft greens) and that they would be 'tightening the screws' this week.
Jimmy drops a 17' putt to move to -1 through 3 and a tie for 10th in the very early going

Jimmy just barely missed his birdie putt on the par 5 15th.

He bogeyed 18 to finish the day -2. Kind of sputtered at the end....but still in great position tied for 8th.
2 bogeys on the last 3 is no bueno, but overall a solid 2 under (70) has him in a good position.
JW just birdied the par 3 3rd hole to move to -3 on the tourney. Finau has bogeyed to move back to -5....so JW is 2 off the lead early this morning.

Man....what a kick in the balls. The blow up hole has been his Achilles heel the last couple of years.
Jimmy +2 for his day through 11 holes and even on the tournament. The leaders are at -6.

Still Even thru 14 holes. Don't want to jinx him but his last 4 holes are not difficult (2 Driver/wedge par 4's, a par 5 he birdied yesterday, and a 200 yd par 3 which is like a 7iron for him) He could snag a birdie (or 2) coming home and be sitting pretty for the weekend 
He's grinding out there. Just birdied 16 to move to -1 on the tourney. I think if he can par in he makes the cut.

He's far from the cut line and has a 3-foot birdie putt on his final hole to move into the top 12 or so.
Called it (sort of). Jimmy birdied 2 of the last 4 holes; he's -2 total (T12th). Shot Even today with a 9 on a par 5.

Now we just need these leasers to slow down! A Top 25 or better finish for him this weekend would be a great boost.

Great finish there, lots of mental toughness. A 9 can really mess you up. It has to be so hard to know that you are one bad swing away from being among the tourney leaders. But my Dad always taught me that the most important shot in any round is your next one.boognish_bear said:

Worth noting: two champions tour members, Jim Furyk (age 50) and Steve Stricker (age 53) in the top ten after finishing their second round. That is impressive.
Stricker has a really interesting resume. After he reached age 40 he played in 40 Majors, making the cut in 36 of them and at one time making 27 major cuts in a row for majors played in.
