The left have found their platform for 2022, since they can't run on any accomplishments of the Biden regime.

99% likelihood this was leaked by a democrat/leftist staffer (probably a Sotomayor flunky) if not a leftist judge. The intent is probably to try and cause some crazy feminazi rioting and gin up support for the democrat party.

Too bad it'll be drowned out by cheers from sane, stable, employed family men and women who find it horrific to murder babies.

99%.

99.9999999% chance.

This was the lowest of the low to do this. It has one purpose and one purpose only, to create hysteria and mayhem.

Now the nutty leftist in Washington are talking about codifying this into permanent law.

That is another part of the reason. I'll bet it is coordinated at some level and we will see well versed talking points completely coordinated from politicians, media, leftist organizations in an effort to make the affects of Roe permanent law.

There is a group of people who have the President's attention who are collectively referred to as the "Gender Policy Council." Perhaps we do have too much government.

Dems/Libs are expressing major support for the act of leaking.

They're basically equating it to whistleblowing.

And just like that, we see the democratic talking points all the way up to Mid-Term elections
in November. This will be the Mid Term push. Saving Roe.

it wont save Roe. People have the choice, unless Dems wrestle it away from us. . The Feds or Dems or Leftys want votes from those who want it...Leave it to the States to decide. If you want an abortion go get one. If you dont then raise a family.

I would not jump to any conclusions about who leaked this.

But if any law clerk was involved, he or she should be disbarred. If any justice was involved, he or she should be impeached.

Let's see how it helps them in the polls. In Texas after the most recent child protection (antiabortion) law was passed, republicans gained 10+ seats in the legislature.

That's not going to happen when Democrats equate this leak with whistleblowing and bravery.

Sheldon Whitehouse just said there should not be an investigation to determine the source of the supreme court leak. Most dems are going to agree with that.

And if it did happen...this person would cash in on book deals and interviews.

If they make it THE issue for November, they may be in for a surprise. Recent polls/surveys indicate a solid majority do not favor abortion on demand.

Dems definitely can't paint this as a "woman's right to choose." Are all Dems biologists? How do we know you are a woman? What about all the men who get pregnant (as Dems believe)?

Honestly, I don't think most of them understand that the effect of this is to just make it a legislative issue. They think the SC is "outlawing abortion." It's just sad.

A person called Amit Jain clerks for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. As a Yale student, Jain blasted Yale for supporting Brett Kavanaugh's nomination. Jain was quoted in a 2017 Politico piece by Josh Gerstein. Gerstein published the draft SCOTUS opinion on Roe.

Might, at the very least, want to start the investigation there.

Insanely irresponsible and disloyal for Sotomayor to hire as a clerk someone who was publicly trying to shout down the nomination of another standing justice.

Amit doesnt like the way things are done in America. Also, Parag Agrawal, the twitter CEO, doesn't agree with the first amendment protecting speech or how Vidjaya Gadde, the twitter attorney, thinks it's up to her to censor conservatives. I see a pattern developing here.

You exponentially underestimate how ignorant the loudest of the left-wing nuts are about government and how it works. The average lunatic on twatter barely knows what SCOTUS is and how it works. They just get emotionally outraged every time they do not get their way and lack the ability to rationally think about law, government, reason, etc.

While you are correct, ignorance of how our government works is equally distributed across political viewpoints.

be honest for a minute...

do you really think it was someone working for Alito, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Roberts, Gorsch, or Barrett? How would this leak benefit any of them?

This is CLEARLY done by one of the leftist wackos or their staffs. They are the only ones who could possibly benefit from such a horrible action. This is on par with ballot harvesting, or some other method of election fraud... this is an action designed to destroy our Judicial system and our Republic. No one would just do this for the heck of it.. there must be a huge payout to take this damaging action.

It may or may not be Sotomayor's office that did it...

But it would not be the first time they were responsible for something like this.

https://www.npr.org/2022/01/18/1073428376/supreme-court-justices-arent-scorpions-but-not-happy-campers-either

Someone in her office leaked that: "Sotomayor did not feel safe in close proximity to people who were unmasked. Chief Justice John Roberts, understanding that, in some form asked the other justices to mask up.

They all did. Except Gorsuch, who, as it happens, sits next to Sotomayor on the bench. His continued refusal since then has also meant that Sotomayor has not attended the justices' weekly conference in person, joining instead by telephone."

She and the cabal of young leftist clerks she has around her do not play well with colleagues.

Nothing in D.C. ever surprises me.

But if I had to guess, Politico did not get this draft directly from anybody at SCOTUS. Instead, a clerk shared it with someone outside and that person then leaked.

It could be that it was not intended for further release, although that doesn't lessen the breach of protocol. And given that the Federalist Society basically runs the Federal Courts it would not stun me if the draft opinion was circulated in those circumstances.

Not to say that a liberal clerk leak isn't a likely conclusion.

I hear what Booray is saying about not jumping to conclusions about who would leak this, but it would take a moron of the highest level for a conservative to leak something that is going to precipitate another summer of discontent. All of vitriol aimed at conservatives. This is the progressive playbook, not really seeing it as jumping to conclusions.

In both the NFIB v. Sibelius and Bostock cases there were rumors leaked that a conservative justice was leaning toward a vote with the left. Last week it was reported that Roberts wanted to uphold the Mississippi law in Dobbs without overturning Roe and that he was trying to pull a conservative justice away from the majority. Perhaps in this case, similar to NFIB and Bostock, the leak is meant to pressure conservative justices to hold the line. That would be bad news for pro-lifers, as leaking the full opinion seems a desperate act and would suggest that one or more conservative justices is seriously wavering. But I'm hoping the vote is secure and this is a play by the left.
