I agree. There are needs, no doubt. We need specific engineering, health care and agriculture. Those are the areas I have seen. My wife, a 36 year RN, says we need Philippino nurses. They are well trained, dedicated and want to be Nurses (not Nurse Practioners, Nurse Anesthetist or other ways to get off the floor.). Ag needs migrant workers.

But it needs to be a real program, not a way to lower costs.

So are these jobs going to Indian immigrants because the US is not producing enough graduates in STEM areas… or are they being hired over qualified American candidates because they are cheaper?

The first scenario makes logical sense… the second one is problematic.
