The government in its present form might not be capable of common sense anything. Too many of them, for example, cannot even define "woman."

I'm in my mid 40s. It wasn't that long ago that Democrats were fairly normal people. I might have disagreed with some policy positions but they were largely normal. In, maybe, 6-8 years they have become a parody. They have a 31% favorability rating right now. Their unfavorability rating is the highest it's been since 2008 when the question was first surveyed…and that's from Quinnipiac.

There's no way they think this is going to make them more favorable.

"We have a problem…people hate us…we should totally try to impeach the president for the 37th time because we don't like him"

"Do you have any grounds for that?"

"No but what the hell, people will LOVE it!"

I hate to tell you this, but those people who you thought were mostly normal weren't. They were as crazy then (& for many years) as they are now but today we are better informed, they are more obvious about it, and it's more widespread.

Much of the apparatus for their crimes, perversion, & craziness has been around for decades.

That's not true. The vast majority of people fall near the center of their respective sides (still). Social media has a vested interest in amplifying the edges because it drives engagement.

So all we ever hear is the far ends of both sides of the spectrum.

Tear it down completely. You can put something else up with a different / more restricted structure to replace it.

OSHA ruined our rental company. Over regulated and over-lawyered. I'll give you an example. We had a weed mower that had an open front on it so you could get the weeds to the cutting edge. Signs all over that said 'keep your fingers out'. Two people still stuck their fingers into the blades. Both sued under perceived OSHA regulations. We had to settle with both per our insurance company who promptly raised our rates beyond expectation. Dad sold his business of 50 years...

I should distinguish between ordinary people and die hard activists or politicians. There might be some "ordinary" people in the Left. I kinda doubt it since they still think it's ok to kill babies or mutilate children. Some also have trouble defining "woman."

I cannot describe somebody as "ordinary" or "normal" if they have no grasp of reality. Same goes for people who vote gif such crazies. It's the same thing.

Hopefully Trump takes it all the way to the Supreme Court and we get a trial about the 14th amendment and birth right citizenship

It can't be allowed in a world of jet speed travel for everyone who has a baby illegally inside the U.S. gets citizenship

Mexico deploys military troops to border in 'Operativo Frontera Norte'
Troops sent to Juarez, other Mexico border cities

Mexico launched a massive, attention-grabbing deployment of 10,000 military troops dubbed "Operativo Frontera Norte" to cities and towns on the border with the United States, including Juarez.

US-Mexico border:US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth makes first visit to border in El Paso, Sunland Park

The deployment includes an unspecified number of Mexican army soldiers and National Guard troops going to Juarez and the Chihuahua-state border towns of Ojinaga, across from Presidio, Texas, and Palomas, across from Columbus, New Mexico, reported La Verdad Juarez news site.

Members of Mexico's National Guard gather near a plane, after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum agreed with U.S. President Donald Trump to bolster border enforcement efforts in response to Trump's demand to crack down on immigration and drug smuggling, at Abraham Gonzalez Airport, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, February 4, 2025.
Videos and photos posted on social media by Mexico's Secretariat of National Defense, known as SEDENA, showed military troops lined up boarding military transport planes and rows of army trucks rolling out in the predawn darkness Tuesday from army bases in Mexico City and other cities.

The response translated as "Operation Northern Border" is part of an agreement reached Monday, Feb. 3, between U.S. President Donald Trump and Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum postponing trade tariff threats and counterthreats for a month that created uncertainty and economic rattles.

Troops are also being sent to other border cities, including Tijuana, Mexicali, Nogales, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros.

Trump asked Mexico to do more to counter the smuggling of fentanyl and other drugs and illegal immigration to the United States. Mexico is calling on the U.S. to do more to stop the trafficking of firearms sold in the U.S. going to Mexico.

"The fentanyl crisis in the United States, they obviously have to do their part in the United States," Sheinbaum said on Tuesday at her regular morning news conference in Mexico City, adding that the U.S., Canada and Mexico are all in the fight against organized crime.

For decades, Mexico has regularly deployed and rotated its military forces on anti-crime and counter-drug missions to various hot spots across the country, including Juarez, with various levels of success.

In 2021, Mexico, in an agreement with the Biden administration, sent 10,000 troops to its borders to reduce migration to the U.S. border, the Associated Press reported.

Great progress. I think it's well documented that corruption in Mexico is through the roof and a lot of these soldiers work for the cartel. I'm hoping Mexico is serious in their efforts and the soldiers they are sending aren't compromised.
