I don't like Paxton, but Cornyn has been a lying hypocrite for decades.

Then, Paxton would have less than the pimp.

Sorry for you that your buddy Talarico turned out to be another empty suit, like Beto before him.

Cornyn wasn't impeached or indicted as AG or as Senator. I voted for Cornyn and character/integrity. You know, the things Christian Nationalists can't comprehend.

So if someone plays the politicians long enough, kisses enough butts, you just ignore whether or not they are screwing the voters.

I guess you don't apply that philosophy to Trump or Paxton.

Talarico would screw more voters in his first term than Paxton and Trump together have done in total.

The lawyer, Dan Cogdell, helped save Mr. Paxton from criminal charges and an impeachment, but now he says the Texas attorney general has "lost sight of his mission."

Is the war going well? Mission accomplished? 0-4 for Piggy on the waor. Any refutation of Piggy's approval rating is the lowest in history. You good with that ., it's everybody else who's effed up (73% )Disaproval Rating is cuz of Biden or some other deflection you have turned into an art. It is 100% Trump's economy, tariffs, war, inflation....and you still buy the Bronx Con Man. That is all he has ever been.

Over 95% of the criminal defense bar votes democrat. Nothing particularly interesting about this. Lawyers represent clients in exchange for money or notoriety (future money).

Barry Richard represented Bush in the 2000 Florida recount and he is a life-long democrat.

Typical Dunning Kruger effect

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where people with limited knowledge or skill in a domain overestimate their own competence, while true experts tend to underestimate theirs.

Cornyn spent $150M in a primary and still lost. Seems rich to be lecturing on his ability to win elections.

The Establishment Right will continue to roar at the Populist Right. But the fight is over. They lost.
On the other hand, the civil war between the Populist Left and the Establishment Left is still raging.

Cornyn isn't Cheney burning bridges but also isn't the Bush clan working quietly in the background trying to retake the party. For Cornyn it is a very harsh reality. He poured his life into an establishment that has been thoroughly wiped away.

Cornyn was speaking of himself: he will swoon be irrelevant because the voters rejected him. Good riddance!

I don't think he was motivated by social media, although I really don't know. His motives don't matter it's his actions that explain his rejection by Texans.

You sure about that? Lyndsey Graham just stole the Republican primary in South Carolina.

I've never met a singe person in my life who likes Lyndsey Graham and he is as establishment as they come.

Conservative populists have won some minor skirmishes here and there and Trump's first term was a major victory... but in his second term Trump has gone full establishment and betrayed his base populist support.

Minor skirmishes?

After 2016 election:
Blackburn, Hawley, Lummus, Schmitt, Moreno, Sheehy……..and on. HOR even more severe.
Graham has to campaign (and at least partially govern) as a populist simply to survive. So do many others.

Trump (as I think almost anyone on either side of politics will admit) is all over the place.

tariffs are/were pure populist.
Iran is establishment.
Cutting funding for Ukraine and making EU countries buy the weapons, populist.
DC infrastructure improvements, establishment.
Kicking NATO in nuts, populist.
threats over Diego Garcia…..mixed bag.
Border policies, ICE, etc……..populist

Cabinet is a trail mix of populist and establishment.

Take a look at South and Central America, look at the onslaught of Reform, National Rally, and AfD and then deny populism is HEAVILY on the rise. Europe isn't copying Trump's establishment meanderings, they are copying his populist policies.

The Establishment refused to investigate Epstein's clients and Trump himself worked to remove the populist Republicans who were pushing the hardest...

I wanted change and I knew Cornyn was garbage so I voted for Paxton... and its virtually impossible for anyone to be less establishment than Cornyn was so Paxton should be a move in the right direction.... but we have no clue how he'll legislate once he gets in there... he could end up being nearly as awful as Ted Cruz.

From NY Timesj

Mr. Cornyn said he had come to terms with his defeat, a stinging loss he attributed in part to public disillusionment with extreme partisan politics that led to low voter turnout. Now the Trump administration might find itself having to come to terms with Mr. Cornyn as he flexes new political freedom, joining a handful of other Senate Republicans not seeking re-election or defeated in primaries at Mr. Trump's behest who now have added room to maneuver.
"I think it is going to be a pretty bumpy ride for the next seven months," Mr. Cornyn said
Mr. Cornyn believes that impact will reach far beyond his race. He is the epitome of a reliable conservative with what he listed as his "99.3 percent" voting record in line with the president.Unlike Mr. Cassidy of Louisiana, he did not vote to remove Mr. Trump from office after the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by Trump supporters. Still, he said, the president threw him under the bus.
"If he would do that to me, he would do that to anybody," Mr. Cornyn said. "There's never going to be good enough for him, other than 100 percent, you know, slavish adherence to whatever he wants. But obviously that's not what the senator's role is supposed to be, especially in terms of checks and balances."

That's the biblical punishment for blasphemy and refusing to humbly & honestly acknowledge Christ as Lord. Talarico's comments about God are blasphemous lies. The Good News is that he can still repent and be saved but that would mean turning away from his sins, including the lies and perversion. It would probably end his campaign and make him a pariah to the Left.
