I had forgotten that Starr's defense of Briles was so strongly worded. So we've got Starr, McCaw (under oath), and Barnes (under oath) characterizing Briles on the one hand. On the other hand, we've got a semi-anonymous findings of fact (not under oath) and a gratuitous lawsuit pleading (not under oath) telling another story.

This is going to be an interesting trial if we get it. Briles isn't on trial, so to speak. But the competing narratives about what went on at Baylor and how the BoR handled things will be quite interesting. Personally, I hope we get to see it. It will not give Baylor Nation closure, but it will help.

I had forgotten that Starr's defense of Briles was so strongly worded. So we've got Starr, McCaw (under oath), and Barnes (under oath) characterizing Briles on the one hand. On the other hand, we've got a semi-anonymous findings of fact (not under oath) and a gratuitous lawsuit pleading (not under oath) telling another story.

This is going to be an interesting trial if we get it. Briles isn't on trial, so to speak. But the competing narratives about what went on at Baylor and how the BoR handled things will be quite interesting. Personally, I hope we get to see it. It will not give Baylor Nation closure, but it will help.

I think Dunnam is a bright guy that is using McCaw to open more records at Baylor. We may see some a answers to Baylor T9 training and who was hiding reports from this going to trial. That is a positive. I don't see how we see any specifics on athletics I'd none of the accused are outside Briles and McCaw activities.

You do realize the post you are quoting has zero to do with BOR competence? That had nothing to do with the conversation. In fact you can believe the BOR are incompetent beyond believe and acknowledge that the world thinks Briles was terminated for good cause. The two points do not conflict with one another.

Earlier this week I was skeptical the BOR had the ability to use a subjective criteria in approving nominees to be elected to be a new regent. Malbec disagreed with me - which is a common thing - but he took the time find the by-laws and show us, and sure enough Malbec was right. This is the way things should work. On the other hand, so much of the same rumors that can not be backed up gets repeated over and over - and I call them on it over and over (and in that regard I should stop). I don't give wholesale BOR endorsement - I just don't believe a lick of the conspiracy to get Briles, and since we are primarily on the sports board that is what is primarily discussed.

If you see me make an error or have an opinion that is different - back up your position and I promise my mind can be changed. Thanks in advance.

You guys just haven't been paying attention. Have you really been this detached in all things BU other than our football wins?

It has ALWAYS been like this at good ole BU. I'm not worthy of determining nor recognizing who is "best" and if we deserve better. I do know a few of the regents and without question they love Baylor and I never questioned their hearts. I believe they were put into a no-win situation courtesy of Starr, McCaw and Briles. The drugs kept them from making a timely decision. What drug you say? A winning football program while allowing a gaping wound to fester and grow to the point they had to amputate an entire limb. That drug.

They, like Briles, waited too long to clean out that gaping axe wound because their pushers told them all it will take care of itself. Baylor rolled the dice and we all know Baptists don't and can't gamble. At least not in public.

But a I'll ask, Just for the sake of seeing if there's any rational common ground we can find:

Why try so hard, day after day for years, to defend what is factually at BEST a very mediocre board that was found to have meddled, internal conflicts of interest in governing, lack of institutional control..etc. And at worst, completely inept and in over their heads, involved in willful coverups, and misleading the university.

Simple question. Are you literally saying this is the BEST Baylor should expect? There's no one who can do a better job? Yes or no?

You guys just haven't been paying attention. Have you really been this detached in all things BU other than our football wins?

It has ALWAYS been like this at good ole BU. I'm not worthy of determining nor recognizing who is "best" and if we deserve better. I do know a few of the regents and without question they love Baylor and I never questioned their hearts. I believe they were put into a no-win situation courtesy of Starr, McCaw and Briles. The drugs kept them from making a timely decision. What drug you say? A winning football program while allowing a gaping wound to fester and grow to the point they had to amputate an entire limb. That drug.

They, like Briles, waited too long to clean out that gaping axe wound because their pushers told them all it will take care of itself. Baylor rolled the dice and we all know Baptists don't and can't gamble. At least not in public.

So your answer is "no". Baylor can't do better than this BoR. You selectively apply judgement to some and Excuse faults of others based on personal views and bias. Again. What I listed was mentioned in their own PH report. Pages and pages of reform needed aimed solely at them. This is more than enough for any reasonable/objective third party to say "we can do better". Thanks for at least admitting that. It's sad. But thanks For your honesty.

Thee, I will readily admit its a trick question. But it doesn't make it any less relevant. It weeds out the bias and blatant hypocrisy. Anyone who claims, as a university, we should not expect and demand better than this BoR has an agenda. I never claimed They didn't love Baylor. I factually said they demanded total accountability from everyone else. I factually said they were found guilty of their own significant sins. I factually said the accountability stopped at their own door steps.

Again, I thank you for your response. There is a reason Keyser ignores and can't answer. No amount of spin from him can refute any of what I've said.
