Who attends Paul Quinn? African Americans for the most part
Who attends TSTI? My guess would be lots of poor folks who can't attend Baylor
Nice job of insulting African Americans and poor people. You would make a great candidate for the BOR. Elitist. Demeaning. Unwilling to ever admit you are wrong. Insulting of those with "limp wrists". Can I say homophobic just a bit?
And get off this absurd high horse about how wonderful Baylor football players were in the past. I was a freshman in 1967. The thugs sitting on the steps of Martin Hall I would not call examples of wonderful people. My wife....freshman in 1967 refused to date football player because she got tired of being constantly groped. There were a few fine guys....Dr. Derek Davis comes to mind, but the majority loved nothing more than to bully anyone on campus who was smaller or weaker. I don't think Grant Teaff made that change. It's everywhere.
And let me ask....who taught Briles the "Baylor way" that you love to quote. Ramsower? Starr? Willis? Buddy? Neal? He was asked to win and that he did.
Let's see. I don't want to make you cry but my ancestors were the original white slaves, not indentured servants but slaves. Irish.
I won't tell you how poor I grew up. No way I could sniff Baylor without my scholarship.
Let's see. 1967-70
1-8-1
3-7
0-10
2-9
No wonder you don't have a sense of humor!
It was Ian's responsibility. He should have sat Art down each August and go over the rap sheets, the arrest records, assaults, grades, attendance records, etc. but more importantly remind him that this is not UH or TT and that if he was going to present a window into Baylor University it better be crystal clear or cleaned up immediately. There was plenty of smoke (lack of discipline) early on and lots of flashes that anyone could see unless your eyes were blinded by the 4-8, 4-8, 7-6, 10-3, 8-5, 11-2, 11-2 & 10-3 seasons.
I know that some of your wives might have crossed paths with some vulgar, stinking, gross football players. I'm sorry. I was one of them but I knew where the line of no return was and while I myself flirted with it on occasion, I respected Baylor and her Mission Statement and tried my best to present a decent product. I was your worst dream..............a frat boy and a football player.
Winning football games at Baylor carries additional responsibilities and if someone like Ian or Ken did nothing or turned the other cheek, then I will give Art a little slack. Just a little.
