My voting place handed out Sharpies and my answers bled through. It's a 2 sided sheet so I don't know what the implications are. My kids who were with me even discussed it at the time. We just assumed that, since the bleed marks didn't line up the answers on the other side, then it would be okay.

I have never voted in anything but an electronic ballot. How and why are in person voters still voting manually? I literally don't get this.

Trump is not conceding Arizona. The campaign was meeting with lawyers this morning. They are definitely looking at the Sharpie issue.
They will also be reviewing ballots that were not counted due to the signatures not matching, and curing ballots for the next few days. The Trump team feels good that this will all work out in their favor, but they obviously drink the cool-aid.

Everyone should be issued a paper receipt of how they voted (can be assigned a random number) and be provided the ability to look up that random number on their receipt to see if they're counted and who it went to.
It really bothers me that I vote with electronic ballot and not provided a paper receipt of how I voted.

If AZ poll workers really did such a stupid act, they need to be arrested, jailed, tried, and if convicted, they need to be sent to prison for a good while. A republic cannot have its voting integrity made that suspect.

And is this still the case if Trump somehow regains the AZ lead?

On the other hand, why were they in Pennsylvania on Monday arguing that Pennsylvanians should not be given the opportunity to cure rejected ballots?

Depending on the software, the bleeding could invalidate the entire ballot. Or the Sharpie marks on the back page bleed through to the front.
It may all turn out to be nothing. As someone else posted, the manufacturer of the voting machine may allow Sharpies and the bleeding might not impact anything.
We'll know more soon.

We rely heavily on poll monitors to catch irregularities. That is one problem with electronic voting. They are not volunteer poll watcher friendly. It would be very difficult to spot an issue such as what you suggest. There would be no paper trail, unless one is generated that can be viewed by the voter.chriscbear said:

I like the idea of a receipt with a confirmation number where you can go home, get online and verify your vote is in and in the way you voted. It would likely more some voter fraud more difficult. Have no particular objection to that, but the voter fraud people are worried about is votes cast by people who should not be voting. There is zero evidence of any material number of votes being incorrectly recorded.
This is proving to be a close one. One awful candidate is bound to win, as sad as that is.
