Why Big 12 Basketball Expansion Could Solidify Football's Place

While college football has dominated the reasons for realignment, basketball may soon be far more important. And it could be the undervalued hand the Big 12 can use to solidify its position. 

I’m adamant that the next round of realignment is that the SEC, Big 10 and ACC powers are going to try and form their own league. If Texas can stop playing Baylor and Texas Tech, then Ohio State can tell Rutgers and Northwestern that it doesn’t want to subsidize them.
