I predict That CSD will leave after the tournament. NIL will kill Baylor Sports. And, he would probably be looking into the future and his job security.. Going with an SEC team would enhance that security.

Now that the game is over, can we get back to this asinine take? The only rumblings were Louisville, and faint rumblings at that. Drew shot them down yesterday. But there's an SEC team Drew is going to? Who? Kentucky?? For job security??

He was help side defending on that play. He is always chasing because our perimeter guys get blown by so easily.
He was way too high to begin with. Watch Josh, he never floats up to the free throw line for no reason. He stops the ball on blow-bys and forces a pass out to the perimeter.
Yeah, I agree he tends to play too high. And he makes other mistakes defensively as a young and raw prospect. And I have repeatedly acknowledged he is not a good low-post defender. But as a pure shot blocker / rim protector, he is elite. Read any scouting report on him and the NBA agrees with my take on him: https://fanspo.com/nba/s/nba_draft/p/KWn_omPO0EQAdE/yves-missi-scouting-report

Any deficiencies, especially on defense, the NBA will say "we'll take care of that. Just let him get on our team, and we'll fix all that." Unless you're a special offensive player like Doncic or Lillard and you don't have to play defense.

It seems very few SEC coaches have job security.

Not to mention Missi hasn't even been playing basketball for 5 years. He has so much to learn about the game still and instincts to develop, NBA drafts on potential.

Thanks. I was surprised we did that well. I guess the sting of those three losses made it feel much worse than reality.

I think he has that potential. The tools are certainly there. But I can't call him elite at this stage in his development for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

It's a shame we won't get to see him one more year because Josh O improved dramatically as a post defender from his freshman to sophomore years. There's no reason to think Missi wouldn't as well.

The Kentucky job offers seemingly endless job security. Top 3 basketball budget and history. Lose every year in the 1st round? No problem, feel free to return for another year and try again. Apparently Calipari has to commit a felony to get fired.

With a $34mm buyout, it would take a felony. Don't kid yourself, tho, Calipari worked his way to that contract after the NC. The next guy will most assuredly be on a short leash.

Did I hear that right? Colgate's men's tournament basketball team lost out on the band to their women's hockey team? I get that they didn't think they had much of a chance vs. Baylor, but still, that's pretty bad.

Well, we got Colgate, and we squeezed them, used them, and spit them out. I think they were the most un-athletic looking team we've played all year. You HAVE to beat a team like that by 20 if you expect to go deep in the tourney. But it still was a little concerning how easy it looked for them to score inside against us at times. I don't know how excited to get with our hot shooting, it wasn't really being contested due to Colgate's defense being so small and slow. But hope it continues Sunday.

I wouldn't harp on the band too much. They live in hockey land and it was the Frozen Four. I think I saw where they only have 3,500 or so students. Had it been my decision I would have gone to the FF also.....where they might could do some good for their team.

That Colgate squad was way more athletic and talented that Mississippi Valley State, but yeah I agree we needed to win like this.

Not sure it means a lot other than our struggles throughout the year have been more about who we've played then about how we've played.

Those are the only opportunities he's gotten ... and for obvious reasons. But his shot today -- a curl off a screen -- and the 3 against Oklahoma -- a pull-up off the dribble -- were legitimately impressive shots, regardless of the situation. Guys don't just jump off the bench and hit those.

He's clearly got some skill. He'd probably be an excellent player at a lower level of college ball.

No dispute but the accolades require an asterisk. His stats are skewed by extremely limited playing time. It's not a valid comparison to someone playing extensive minutes and doing much more than making one shot in the last minute of a blowout win.

I love the guy, his spirit, & his relationship with the team. I applaud his success and cheer him on like the rest of the fans.

I think we could rest assured if Drew thought he could make 3-4 threes against Houston, he'd be playing more.

Kid works his butt off for 3 years as a walk-on, lands a 3 in the NCAA tournament. Considering the millions who have tried their hand at a 3pt shot, a surprisingly small fraction can say they did what he just did. Kudos to him.
