WACO, Texas – Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears (3-2, 1-1) are set to face the Kansas State Wildcats (2-3, 0-1) for a Big 12 matchup. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 4, at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Glad we won after playing like crap. We somehow outplayed them for 3 of 4 quarters but our mistakes plus that horrid 3qtr made it entirely too close.

The secondary is a massive problem. It has to be solved and solved quickly.

Good lord, they didn't give up. That's the only redeeming thing about the last few years. Give them credit for that.

But they wait until they're getting worked to wake up every single game. Strangest team I've seen in a long time. No energy to a few minute frenzy to end games.

Give it to Dave, saved his job for another week. K state managed the game horribly but they won so I'll leave it.

Man, this team is so tough mentally in a weird way. It's a shame the coaches are holding them back.

Aranda's wins feel a lot like Neal Brown's at WVU. He keeps flirting with getting fired and does just enough

It might be an indictment of the NIL era. Our two best players are walk-ons. They have something to prove and didn't need a bag from day 1 to want to play for Baylor

I credit the players. And I for sure thought it was game over. KSU inexplicably called some pass plays that got us back in. With Dave, it's hard for me to credit him too much when the player of the game was a walk on. He's a very good player, but a walk on. In year six you'd think he'd have one or 2 studs on D.



But they wait until they're getting worked to wake up every single game. Strangest team I've seen in a long time. No energy to a few minute frenzy to end games.

I'm a huge fan of Sawyer, but he can pick up so many first downs if he tucks it. As good as he is and has been, he limits our offense and stalls out drives by throwing incompletions when he can take the 6-7 yard gain and get down or out of bounds. I see how backbreaking those types of plays are to our defense and what those extended drives can do. He can really dictate the defense more than he does and keep opposing offenses off the field.

The final score says nothing about what is structurally wrong with the program, and the steps needed to fix it.

Agree. happy we won, BUT we should have beat that team by a margin and it never should have come to this situation. I will take it, but it took some luck from KSU with bad clack management down the stretch.

The way the coaches coach and the way the players play in the final 8 minutes...can we please start coaching and playing like that THE WHOLE GAME.

KSU had us but called 3 pass plays that backfired. If they had played their cards right they could have forced us to use all our timeouts. Such a well called game from them until the last 5 minutes.

Glad we somehow pulled it out but for some perspective the team we had to struggle our guts out to get a 1 point home win against lost at home to a team that Tarleton State beat the week before. If we were anything close to the team most of us were expecting this shouldn't have been anywhere near this hard.
