I'm a huge fan of Sawyer, but he can pick up so many first downs if he tucks it. As good as he is and has been, he limits our offense and stalls out drives by throwing incompletions when he can take the 6-7 yard gain and get down or out of bounds. I see how backbreaking those types of plays are to our defense and what those extended drives can do. He can really dictate the defense more than he does and keep opposing offenses off the field.

Doesn't run and misses seeing wide open receivers

I'm not sure where you're going with this. Are you implying we don't spend money on D, or are you saying that mercenaries are less likely to give a crap?

Both?

I don't follow this that well, but wasn't one of the guys we lost to injury a few games ago, the defensive player of the year somewhere?

My ten things if I can think of ten things.

A win is a win! Even better at home!

Quite a few folks got to see a really exciting game with really cheap tickets.

Kickers and punters ended up winning the day for Baylor. Whoda thunk it?

Cool seeing Pete Souza doing play by play. Good job!

Game management on both sides, crazy like a fox on acid.

Only 3.5 points away from beating the spread.

Would have won by more if not for yellow shirts and pants, so uniform adjusted performance was good.

Really low attendance for gold-out took the pressure off the team. Maybe not enough people have yellow shirts?

Brilliant defensive play call, "if the receiver gets behind a DB for a sure TD, rip his helmet off!" Saved the game.

Nobody got shot.

We beat a team that lost to Army at home and beat North Dakota at home by 3 points……..by one point @ home.

Context matters.

Oh come on, they didn't have their receivers and running back for those games. That was the story I read. Yes, context matters.

I don't feel 2-4 but do feel 3-3. It's probably due to the fact that KSU, a mediocre team, has shown the rest of the conference the blueprints to beating us. Go on slow 11 minute drives.

A lot didn't have them when Briles was here, either. Hard to put down that Baylor brown, red, ..... it doesn't go with my hair.

I hear you, but those are still low quality teams they played. I guess the rest of the season will determine exactly how good this KSU team really is.

Redding is not the best athlete on our defense but he has a real nack for knowing where to be. And that may matter more than athleticism. It's kinda like how slow tennis players still win matches. They know beforehand where the ball is going.

Wins are great, but that's the worst 4-2 team in CFB

Frustrating much of the day, but fun at the end. Avery Johnson had the game of his career. We finally put a spy on him down the way. Game balls to Michael Trigg, Connor Hawkins and Jacob Redding-all three exciting plays when it counted the most.

Our offense is fine. Its not perfect and I wish Sawyer would run more but its good enough. Our defense is bad. Really bad. Specifically the secondary.

Just a few interesting stat tidbits:

Trigg with 155 was the only Baylor receiver with more than 50 yards.

Bryson was a game time decision, still ended up our leading rusher, 9 carries for 50.

Knighten got stuffed for -6 on 5 carries.

Baylor fans should know his name. He had the defensive play of the game in the SMU win as well.

I think this is fair. But all wins count the same. And each one keeps us in the fight.

Maybe we'll get on a roll at some point like we did late last year.

I don't blame the fans at all for leaving when they did...I was as down as anyone on this game at the end of Q3....but I did feel a little bad for the players at the end there when they were making the comeback with no one there to see it
