Just caught S1E1 of Fallout.

Pleasantly surprised. Very good. Did not realize it was by Johnathan Nolan (Dark Knight, Interstellar)

I'm a big fan of all the games. Look forward to catching it soon. I've only heard good things about it from gamers and non-gamers alike.

Walter Goggans steals the show. If you never put a name to a "face", you would know within minutes who I am speaking of. He also played Boyd Crowder in Justified if that stirs a memory or the trans prostitute in Sons of Anarchy

Ohhhh yes, very familiar! He steals the show in almost anything he's in. He always has me laughing so hard as Baby Billy in The Righteous Gemstones. Haha.

And these roles are so diverse! A trans prostitute, a kingpin criminal, a televangelist, his "shhhh" role in Fallout...

Goggins gives another great turn in Fallout. Never played the games but the show is bizarre and fun. Some dark humor, action, and mystery with a fun old soundtrack.

Shogun with a great Episode 9. Picked up the pace a little as it had been slowing down. Going to rewatch all 9 of them before watching 10, the finale. Since this is so detailed, expect to pickup some goodies I didnt before

The podcast isn't bad either. They discuss some of the actual history and who the characters are based on. Interview the writers, directors, and cast.

High Hopes on Hulu... Medical Marijuana dispensary in LA

Laughed my ass off on Episode 1. Ep 2 was pretty good. Started to kinda get old by 3

BTW - If you are a child of the 80s, you will recognize Mr. Spicoli's long lost son rather quickly...

So 'Arthur the King' the other day. Mark Whalberg is an endurance athlete. they do hundreds of miles biking, running, hiking, climbing, kayaking, etc.

Along one of his last journey's, he picks up a stray dog. Wont give much more away.

Great family movie I think. Would have made Walt Disney proud

Went to see Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare tonight. Enjoyable movie if somewhat "by the numbers" war movie. Still, some fun scenes and they did manage to avoid a few cliches. While it's highly fictionalized, the base story is similar

That looks worse than the offspring of a bad Hallmark Christmas movie and a soap opera.

"Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum," the working title, is the latest of these movies to be announced. It is slated for a release sometime in 2026. Same group of producers. For us sci-fi/fantasy folk, love it.

Gotta admit, kinda addicted to Young Sheldon. Pokes fun at our Texas traditions, but in a way that you laugh along with it. Young Sheldon's two-part series finale airs Thursday, May 16, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS

Gonna be a tearjerker apparently.

Just binged Outer Range S2. Fun and a good play on S1. Kinda strange ending though. Big time setup for a S3. Starting to think there are just too many directions playing out though

The ending to Young Sheldon was really good. And was the promised tear jerker. Followed by another Young Sheldon with older Sheldon and his wife. I really didnt get into Big Bang Theory so I didnt know that much about it. Nice ending to the show.

Assassin---old Midway "B" team chum---regarding your two posts about Young Sheldon, I concur with a hearty "Amen." My bro and I are also addicted to Young Sheldon, having come to the party a bit late via reruns of past seasons. But we have gotten caught up fairly quickly, and laughed through tears at the last two episodes of the series. (And like you, we do not watch The Big Bang Theory.) Sheldon's sister Missy is our favorite character, Georgie talks authentic Texan, and Annie Potts is a treasure as Meemaw.

Double movie day for me. Saw Furiosa. Pretty cool prequel to Mad Max, Fury Road (the one with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron). Followed Furiosa's childhood and development. If you are expecting a young Charlize, Anya Taylor Joy ain't it. But she pulls off the role pretty well. Chris Hemsworth in a pretty cool role as the villain

George Miller is working on a new prequel which will take place not too long after this one ends, a year before Fury Road. This one sets it up

Saw Furiosa the other day. 7/10 for me. Some great pieces like opening chase. Thought Miller needed to shave 20ish minutes of run time and tighten the script. Didn't think the payoff was quite there for Furiousa or Dementus, especially Dementus. Would rank it as my third favorite Mad Max world film after Fury Road and Road Warrior.

Worried we might not get another one as it hasn't lit up at the box office so far. Attending the theater is expensive and I don't think the marketing or timing was great for this film. They should have done a limited theater run of Fury Road to remind people of Furiosa. Casual fans might've forgotten her and it's not Charlize Theron this go around. Plus it had Mad Max in the subtitle and he's in the film for all of a 5 second cameo. They should have released before Dune 2 or waited longer and pushed Fury Road in theaters to build the hype a bit more.
