BYU is a very good team that likely makes their way into the top 5 this year, especially with this win. Easily a 10 win team. They'll be difficult in the Big12.

Baylor needed to play smarter. Mistakes cost them (Kicking and penalties). Grimes didn't make up for those mistakes, but Baylor easily played well enough to win with half as many penalties.

Losing on the road to a ranked team is not the end of the world….but we just continued to hand this game to BYU.

116 yards of penalties is not supposed to be who we are now.

If Shapen can't run….and we don't trust him to throw….I'm not understanding letting go the QB that led us to 12 wins and our highest ever final season ranking.

May be one of the worst offensive called games I have ever seen.

Fire Grimes on the tarmac. We let GB go because Shapen was a better passer. We said he'd run this offense better. Anybody on this board could've take 95% of the snaps tonight. Either something is up with Shapen or we just don't have an offensive identity besides "hope the defense wins it for us". Love my Bears but this is an awful feeling in a year where the conference looks so down.

BYU is good but not as good as we made them look tonight.

We were over ranked from the onset. The skill players just aren't where they need to be and the secondary is well below average

Defense didn't turn me on either. I thought our Dline was a strength and while there were some pressure it wasn't consistent and didn't impact the game and then our secondary is dog

Can't believe I stayed up for this trash. At least it's early in the season. We managed to climb up to 6(? Before jumping to 5 after the bowl) from starting unranked last year. But we need a kicker and a complete overhaul of that "offensive scheme"..

Well Qualan had it going and we just took him out each play. They did not want to hit him.

They ain't winning in Morgantown either,

Shapin was extremely sharp the first half he threw bullets through knotholes the wheels came off in the second half because we ran and we ran and was successful and it just kind of slugged up at the end

Guarantee you BYU takes an L in Eugene next week. They're a good not great team. We're just not near as good as we thought

1. is shapen injured? i can't explain the dude i saw lofting over coverage and frozen roping perfect slants, go's, 10 yard outs/ins/curls....to what i saw tonight.
2. defense doesn't have a dude. like the dude who steps up and make the game his. like jalen pitre. like ahmad dixon. we need a dude.
3. i really like kyron drones. i really like kyron drones. there's a dynamic that he gives us with both arms and legs that gerry didn't and shapen doesn't. don't know if/when it's his time but if there are 3-4 more games of an anemic QB performance...i hope we give it a shot. he could be the future. yes i know we have novosad hopefully coming.
4. grimes needs to re-evaluate his players and his play calling. square pegs in round holes tonight. that's on him.

Yep no think it's on Grimes but that is really call into question their personnel decision on a proven commodity.

Shapen's throws in the 2nd half were hot garbage. There was clearly something wrong. Still on the coaches, because if you're not going to let your qb throw OR run because he's hurt, you're playing with only 10 men on the field. You absolutely can not win like that

If you are going to be a 1-dimensional team, you had better be dominant b/c everybody in the stadium knows the play call.

We threw the ball deeper than 15 yards maybe twice all night? One was a completion to Holmes. If we're gonna call plays like a bunch of scared kittens every time we play a decent defense, we should have stuck with Bohanon.

Running Craig Williams up the middle for no gain all night tells you all you need to know about our OC. There's not an intelligent people in this universe who thinks that's a good idea.

We lost to an unranked TCU last year late in the season and still finished ranked #5.

This loss is not a killer….we weren't even favored….but that game was there for us to win.
