Remember that time that UT hired Casey Horny off CAB's staff after the scandal hit....

Never mind that 20+% of UT coeds claim to be sexually assaulted at some time during their stay on the 40 Acres.

The hypocrisy and virtue signaling from TCU, UT and other fans is pretty blinding and pathetic.

No doubt Briles ain't perfect, no doubt the same thing goes on at their campuses if not even in greater numbers, and they can't stop it either.

Unless something specific comes up with KB this probably won't come up again for them.

i'll pay for 2 peoples tickets for the tcu baylor game this fall if they make and take signs that say

TCU LOVES BRILES

only question is, will they be told to get rid of them, or be asked to leave.

if the signs make it on tv, its worth it.

Kendal fed recruits into this woodchipper with expectations of chasing "white women." You recruit guys with those enticements/expectations and they end up brutalizing women, hey guess what, not a surprise.
Since we're on the topic of Kendal Briles, would you care to expound upon this? Where did you get that he had "expectations" for his black players to chase white women? And can you explain the causal link between a coach's support of a black man's predilection for white women and his inevitable "brutalization" of her?

I'm correct.

Nope. You don't have a super special unique insight which gives you the right to belittle anyone that dares disagree. That's delusional.

And how many posts have you had?

I'm guilty, but I only respond. It is time to let it go.
I only respond when one of you nimrods brings the sad little tale back up. As a former player who spent 4 years trying hard to leave the Baylor program in better shape than when I got there, I have a unique attachment that you and 99% on here don't have. You can't understand.

When hired guns embarrassed the program by breaking rules and ditched common decency, wiped their tails with Baylor Mission Statements and generally were allowed to taint the program that wiped away all of the positives their wins and turn around accomplished, yes, I feel a duty to make a few comments to those still trying to re-write history.

The guy has been at Arkansas for two years without anyone saying anything. Before that Florida State and Houston without a peep. Why is everyone getting worked up now?
Because he's returning to Texas and the Big 12. There was some backlash at Houston, but Major Applewhite had his own baggage at the time that took some of the heat off Kendal.

But TCU was probably louder than any school in America in its moral outrage over the Briles scandal. That they're now reassembling that staff -- and the blatant hypocrisy of it all -- is noteworthy.
TCU was loudest? Let me introduce you to a little school down in Austin. They're pretty small, and they don't have a very big fanbase, so you might not have heard of them before.

The good thing they have going for them, however, is a recent run of excellence in every single major sport.

And they have the swimming trophies to prove it!!

Not sure what her motivation is, but if she is truly being altruistic and trying to improve things on college campuses and hasn't visited Tennessee, Minnesota, Michigan State, U Florida and a handful of other places, then her words ring hollow.

All about money

Her motive is money. She makes 14k per event and requires a first class plane ticket. Prior to this ESPN funded gig, she was working as a nurse.

She was busted when the Ohio State fans pointed out that she neither donates nor raised any money for victims.
She used her Briles money to buy a luxury car and new house.

She works hard to keep that from the public.

I wasn't aware of her being paid by Baylor (if that was the case). If so, how much and approximately when?

"Briles money" to me means her sensationalism of the scandal and her ability to monetize it in many ways.

She was paid to visit Baylor. Airfare, hotel, speaking fee, etc. Not sure exactly how much.

This.

She has a scheduler. Schools sign a contract. It's public info because universities pay her and that's subject to FOIA rules. The Ohio State fans requested the info, then went public with it. And it was 14k per event. Then she was quizzed about donations to victims or victims rights groups. Turns out she wasn't the advocate ESPN claimed she was…Her role model is Jamele Hill, not the local women's shelter.

It's a free country, I'm ok with her having whatever career she's wants, but ESPN giving her cover needs to stop.

Universities need to take a firm stand about ESPN using their brands for propaganda.

Kendal Briles sucks at his job. I've been trying to tell people this for years.

Good offensive football is not about scheme or style. It's about execution. No offense works if you can't recruit, develop and coach players to execute within the system.

Art Briles was great (on the field) because he was able to do that, not because his system magically churns out wins. His disciples are all proof that it doesn't.

Same with the Air Raid. Hal Mumme was a brilliant offensive mind, but his teams have all been losers. Mike Leach was successful because he was a better coach than everyone else who has run his offense before or since.

A big reason we lost the cotton bowl vs msu is because montgomery bounced to tulsa and kb didn't know what he was doing.

Well that and very poor special teams play by us, plus rampant holding by the msu OL.

We also lost it because extreme tempo has no off switch. That's why UCF lost to us, too.

Tempo can be a great tool, but it's just that. You can live and die by it.

Apparently having a slow boring, methodical time consuming low scoring offense doesn't have much of an off switch either.

You don't need an "off switch" if you don't have an "on switch"

Our offense sucks when we don't recruit and develop players capable of executing the very basics of it. But that's true of any offense, spread included.

But as bad our offense is, and it's awful this year, the defense remains a bigger issue. Because the slow, methodical, time-consuming offense was brought in to complement a shutdown defense that we've only seen in one of Dave Aranda's four years in Waco. Without that defense, we're relying on an offense built to sustain leads and grind out close wins to keep up with and win shootouts against offenses that are more explosive than our own.

People spend a lot of time and energy *****ing about the offense, and it is a problem. But the problem is a defense that was significantly worse than our above-average offense in 2022 and has remained worse than our awful offense this season.

The fact that Dave Aranda can't build even a decent defense at Baylor will be his downfall. That was his supposed specialty.
PartyBear

And if you don't have an elite defense, which we really have never had, you need an offense that is designed to be like the opposite of our's.

You do know Art Briles won State Titles at Stephenville running his offense, the same offense he ran at Baylor, and that's why Mike Leach hired him.
