If at this point, someone told me that if we keep Dave, Baylor would be guaranteed a national championship at some point in the next 20 years, I'd still pass.
That would mean somewhere in the next 20 years we've been dropped to D3

Will y'all stop with this stupid narrative
.He has to win 7 minimum to return.
Do you really think Baylor will fire him if he gets to six wins and a bowl game?
I think a bowl game and dave keeps his job
You mean the Unicorn Bowl?
The issue is Dave finds ways to lose.. even against absolute scrubs like Houston and KU. Its a very bad bet to believe he can beat anyone right now. The program is soft and the mentality is weak. And yes you are right, even a below average coach would find 6 wins with this schedule. The point makes sense but you're underestimating Dave's issues.boognish_bear said:Bearwhiz said:So you don't expect to beat what you call good teams?boognish_bear said:dycbaylor02 said:Dia del DougO said:
I don't know if the team quit. It may be that ISU has just seen everything Baylor does, made adjustments, got matchups and figured it all out.
I don't think the players quit. They just don't quite have a plan that matches the talent they have and can't adjust like their opponents do. They showed a lot of scrap tonight, so I don't fault them for effort. They just still have a ways to go to play four quarters and beat a decent team.
There was some statistic that said our schedule technically gets easier after this ISU game. Dave needs to win 4 games to get out of jail. I don't see that happening
Our 3 conference games so far have been against 3 teams tied (with others) for first place in the conference. The combined record of those 3 teams is 14-1.
I don't know if TT can win at Arizona tonight...but if they do it will be another matchup for us against a team in first place. Winning on the road in Lubbock probably isn't happening.
That would make 4 straight losses. Will the team be able to stay together mentally?
After that it does get more doable. But if our defense can't get several things fixed I don't think it will matter.
If you think I am fine with what we've seen this year you are misreading my post.
The post I was responding to mentioned that we would soon start facing less difficult opponents. That's what I was responding to.

Nope. I don't see us winning any more games. Houston maybe, but Houston has far better coaches than we do.

What would be more costly to Baylor University?
Replacing Dave Aranda or competing at a lower level of college athletics in 15 years.
And that's giving us the benefit of the value of that Waco market.

Someone should explain the concept of seppuku to Dave. Do the honorable thing.
Why would you do that? The program's not the problem. The coach is.BBWCBear said:

Tcu and Houston are not good football teams, but Dave has nearly no shot. Tcu is close to quitting and showed weak effort yesterday but has decent players. Houston barely has an ounce of talent but plays hard and is very well coached.oldbear69 said:frogs are horrible but will kick our a$$$..Guitarbiscuit said:Doc Holliday said:Theres no way this team is getting 6 winsboognish_bear said:Stefano DiMera said:

In some thread someone mentioned piss poor attendance at the homecoming game against Oklahoma State would get admin attention.
We are about to find out because they will be lucky to fill that thing half way.

To be perfectly honest, I don't if ANYTHNG gets the attention of this administration. After allowing Aranda back this year, I gave up on them.
