Thought Flagler would have greatly improved ball handling by working it all offseason but it's still so shaky against any pressure

We just got our ass kicked in every way imaginable tonight.

What does chemistry have to do with individual defense? As individual defenders we are really poor like worst in a decade plus poor.

They are terrible individually and terrible in help once the initial defender gets broken down. It's a mess right now

He has. He came into tonight with 43 assists to 11 turnovers.

Tonight sucked, no question. But there's no reason to turn it into a referendum on individual players' abilities or value.

That's why I smh anytime people say Flagler is our PG. Not a knock on Flagler at all, but he is a scoring guard. Since we have no true PG I originally thought Grimes would get a lot of minutes at PG or even start, but they are redshirting him to stagger his eligibility with Bonner and Flagler, which makes sense.

Embarrassing loss, to state the obvious. We'll find out a lot about how this team responds to adversity Friday night because it could easily be another rout if we don't come out at 100%. The UVA loss was a bad stretch for about 10 minutes. This was just an overall, solid, West Texas butt kicking.

Dantwan grimes would've been valuable he's a big PG 6'3 I believe just like the great Jared butler

Why are we trashing Flagler? He's the one guard who played well tonight.

Not to speak for Quinton, but his post was not a knock on Flag's abilities or value. Flagler is lethal playing off the ball but is merely average trying to play PG.

Not much to say about tonight. The offense looked better in the second half, but far from a good offensive game. Defense was absolutely tragic from start to finish. Let's hope we look better vs Gonzaga on Friday

How are our guards defensively?? You keep conveniently avoiding that question. Are good guards not good on both ends of the court?
Bonner is pretty good. Flagler is decent. And Cryer and George are poor. But our help defense is every bit as big a problem as our on-ball defense currently.

Not really accurate. Bonner is decent but gets beat with a step consistently. Always overplaying. Only looks good in comparison to the putrid defense of the others. Flagler has regressed and gets beat constantly. Cryer is bad and George is bad as well.
Neither Bonner nor Flagler, who were plus defenders on last year's team, have regressed. They just don't have the same help behind them. Aggressive defenders will always get beat at times in a no middle defense. The key is quality help and sound rotations behind them. We're not getting either this year.

Again watch the tape. What I said is 100% accurate. You're just completely wrong here. Bonner again is only decent right now. It's right in front of you. He makes some plays and has decent hands but that doesn't make up for the easy spots guys are hitting on him.

Flagler hasn't been good.. lackadaisical and look slow footed. The other two have been bad

He came in averaging nine assists per game and had a decent 5-to-3 assist-to-turnover ratio tonight.

Flagler was not our problem tonight. In fact, he's the only player on this team that has shown up every game this year.

I saw a lack of emotion and leadership tonight.

Oh, I know Flagler was not our problem tonight. Our horrific team defense is the problem. I am only saying he is light years better off the ball than trying to play PG. He is doing admirably trying to play PG but that's really not his wheelhouse.

Houston's a better team this year, nothing wrong with stating the obvious. They still won't win the Natty

The newcomers have let us down this year.

George has become an often out-of-control volume scorer, Bridges is a no-show most nights and Lohner just isn't a particularly talented basketball player unfortunately.

We traded Jeremy Sochan, Kendall Brown and Matthew Mayer for three guys who haven't come close to replacing what those three brought on either end of the floor. That's going to have to change if we're going to get where we want to go.

Love Flagler and thought he could have that breakout in skills when Mitchell came back after working all offseason but it hasn't happened. He is a pace guy and a natural scorer off the ball. Struggles against anyone speeding him up right now.

A good number of folks have wondered if the departed Joey was the juice for the football team. Wonder if the same is true for Jerome Tang and this team.

Will see, have watched them a few times they're nothing special. Fringe ncaa team. Baylor's defense made them look all world. And sadly Baylor's defense is going to make a lot of teams who all world

Tang is missed, but I think it has more to do with Sochan.

It looks like an NBA game. No defense, and a throw it up offense. This games made me sick. I did not expect this at all.

Bear2 as painfully as it is for me to admit I'd right. We essentially struck out in the portal. I'll never understand signing Bridges. No one can convince me he was the best option. So many dudes who would have been major upgrades over him. Dudes that actually play the 4 willingly and are good at it. Lohner love is energy and effort but he's a 10-15 minute energy guy at best. I'll never understand why we didn't go get a true PG and a scoring big or a lockdown big to mask sone of the defenses woes

I hate to say it, but that was a pick up game that was lost, and badly.

We had a starting guard with 0 assists. That says a lot about where the chemistry is right now.
