FWIW after the Deng signing I feel like we have a roster that will do fine next year. Sure, we're thin in some spots, but I don't look at our roster with worry. I feel like only one of our signings was expensive so we should have some $ to allocate to one more rotational player. (Tbh I'm sort of guessing here. I have no idea how much money we have. But I can see the players we're going after (De Jesus, Sheffey, etc)).

Other teams might've run out of money by now and can only acquire players for the minimum. There should be some solid portal entrants tomorrow. My main concern is someone from our team entering the portal late (knock on wood). Only a couple more days of worrying about that.

Not sure anxiety levels need to be so high. I guess I can see that if you're expecting us to be NC contenders next year. For me the goal is to win the Big 12 and/or make Sweet Sixteen/Elite Eight.

At this point, Buggs and Fontelroy leaving are as common of a worry as Drew leaving. Those are the main two people would be worried about, and both aren't going anywhere

Sheppard out of LSU will be a good PG. Great on Defense she has the size. We will have scorers but i feel she has an untapped ability to score.

You are absolutely right - great player - just unfortunately playing behind too many other highly talented guards at LSU. She would likely be a great fit for Baylor.

Sheppard had difficulty keeping up with the physicality and speed of SEC. She was never going to start, not used primarily at PG. She was bench player with minimal minutes. She will be looking to start at G, if not, be part of rotation where she will be 1st off the bench. She wants a lot more minutes. She was not part of the main rotation, she didn't score much, wasn't very productive. Her specialty was defense, not scoring. If you have too many players on the bench, they will not be satisfied and will eventually leave.

Shouldn't matter whether they followed Jhonnie our not. They know that Collen is the coach and I don't think they would have came if they didn't believe in her.

It absolutely matters.

You can't underestimate the importance of an assistant coach's relationship with a player.

Oftentimes, that assistant IS the reason a player comes to a school.

And in this specific case, it's almost guaranteed they came to Baylor primarily because of Harris. Especially when you realize she was their head coach this past season.

We know that jhonnie was their head coach last season.. but like I said.. I doesn't matter. They committed to baylor and Harris now works for baylor. So what.. a win is a win.

I guess according to some fans we shouldn't be happy about Deng and Scott playing for Baylor because they didn't come for CNC. And that we should be worried instead of happy that we hired a great recruiter that brought us players with talent.

Yall find anything to complain about.

I think what was meant, that it doesn't matter WHY they chose us whether it was because Johnnie was coming here, or not.

It seemed as if someone were discrediting the pick ups because "they only followed her."

While that may be true, Collen chose to go hire her and close the deal. It's smart. That's what WBB fan was saying, or at least how I took it

They are good fits for BU. Scott's health is a question. Deng has great shooting form and will be good.

So commits ( other than coaching changes) must sign by May 1? Still some wiggle room if CNC and staff still on the hunt.

I don't believe there is a deadline for signing....other than to meet school's requirements to be registered for the semester?

Omaha just announced yesterday a change in leadership as head coach. I decided to look and well there is a 6 ft 3 inch center who would be a sophomore next year that averaged 7.9 PPG and 7.8 rebounds per game. She is headed to Duquesne so that option is off the table.

No, with half of your guards coming back from injury, you really could use another guard along with the post player.

The current "biggest roster need" is an athletic PG with length that is defensively gifted and has a high motor.

i would have thought that our biggest need would be a post, but i do understand the PG need yall presented

A 3rd post is clearly the second most identifiable wish list "get". But the roster currently has zero PG who are defensively oriented and athletically gifted.

The two PGs on the roster are both coming off a significant knee injury and more offensively oriented. And [sad but true] WBB players who suffer knee injuries are simply far too likely to get another.

Until AP, no one has said one is more important than the other. A post player and a PG can be valuable. It's unlikely Collen only takes one more but obviously that's speculation.

Pretty much everyone here has said that you add another PG and a post, and it's takes the roster to another level.

A sharpshooter who can play both guard positions would be ideal.

Anyone know how well her eye injury has healed? If it has, she could be a really good add. However, might be too big a risk having three guards coming off injuries. If her eye seems good, I would take the risk.

Nicki lost one player to the portal, 1 player!! She is doing a lot of things right here and building a culture where players want to stay at Baylor and play for her. Not many teams can say they only had one player go to the portal. Very thankful we have Nicki.

Phelia has Do Not Contact tag so she already knows what team(s) she will be pursuing. She was excellent at Michigan. She redshirted last season at Texas due to surgery for detached retina.

Don't be surprised if the House settlement [which among other items creates a pathway to a 5th year of eligibility] results in a handful of players who exhausted eligibility this year suddenly becoming Hot Targets this Summer.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/ncaa-to-hold-off-on-discussing-5-year-eligibility-rule-until-after-house-settlement/ar-AA1DtC4t

If the NCAA acts and the change does not delay the effective date, schools will be scrambling like mad to grab the best players who didn't join the WNBA or otherwise go pro.
