Sorry, I should have said that the talk is that she is SEC bound. Not me being pessimistic about it. South Carolina which IowaBear mentioned is more specifically what I had seen multiple say.

But, things can always change in todays $$ world of basketball. Supposedly the other Notre Dame girl that was going to TCU with Miles has changed her mind and is no longer considering TCU

I know that Baylor has much to offer, both on and off the court! This is especially true for those players who are attracted to the "Baylor Culture" and the chance to get great coaching and world class facilities. NIL has added a new dimension to the recruiting world and I feel that this makes it harder for us to compete against those school with access to larger budgets. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see the players get benefits more in line with their contributions to their schools but in the name of fairness (whatever that is) I'd like to see more balance.

I think there definitely needs to be a cap on the amount of money a player can get. Smaller schools are very much at a disadvantage under current system. In my opinion things are totally out of hand with NIL and unlimited transfers.

Guess you keep freshmen as long as you keep one-year portal players. :-) And with the portal players you have less risk as to knowing how they will perform at the collegiate level. Tough on the HS kids that are not top 50 and want to go to a good school with a good basketball heritage who needs help now. No wonder the coaches tend to try the portal first if they can't get want they want out of HS versus taking a chance on a good, but not considered great HS prospect.

Both LSU and SC-e backed off on McMahon. She wanted LSU and they were her #1 choice, she wanted to visit, but LSU backed off. Haven't heard the reason. Ole Miss can't recruit top 50 recruits, but they do well in transfer portal every year, similar to TCU. Guess McMahon will be happy playing in front of 2K crowds and Coach O begging the fans to show up.

Coach O is good coach. And strange comment in that last statement. What was your point? Genuinely asking, in case I missed something, but comes across as kind of…snarky? What was she supposed to do, if her number one choice snubbed her? Not play? Or go somewhere else and just be miserable? I mean, you said she WANTED to go to LSU and they weren't interested.

Not dumping on anyone, just the facts, LSU was #1 choice but backed off last week. McMahon has commented couple times she wanted to play in front of large, loud crowds. But Ole Miss fans do not support WBB, they normally have 2K fans show up. Coach O has gotten ticked off with fans for not supporting WBB, she said she doesn't expect sellouts, she is realistic and would be happy with 4K-5K fans to show up. Not my words, but Coach O and McMahon words. I actually like Coach O, she is a good coach, personable and honest.

Barker is worth a look. She's pretty talented

She played at ATM not Georgia [2 years]. She originally committed to Georgia but switched to ATM when the coach left Georgia for ATM.

She is a one year rental and substantially positionally overlaps our top two players. Can't see her as a priority offer.

Barker played 1st 2 years at TX A&M, then UCLA last season. This will be her final year as senior. She is big and aggressive in the paint and on the boards. She was the 6th player off the bench at UCLA. She would be a very good pickup. Hope she comes for a visit.

Jones and Barker leaving UCLA is surprising. Again, with no reliably accurate and transparent data on NIL numbers, we're left to evaluate player decisions under old school values. UCLA was a Final Four team this year, they return every player in their core rotation except Dugalic, and both Jones and Barker would likely be starters next year. That sounds really appealing. Wonder what other factors drove them to want to leave.

Also find it interesting that Avery Howell signed with Washington. She's a Northwest girl from Idaho, and it is closer to her home, geographically and culturally. However, Washington is only mid tier competitively, and traveling from Seattle to all the Big 10 games is a beast. Howell is a tremendous player with an elite outside shot, with 3 years remaining; she could have gone anywhere.

Kneepkens from Utah (spelling might be off) has UCLA in her top 4. That could be part of why Jones is leaving

Heard that too. Williams visited LSU week ago. Visiting Uconn today. Haven't heard much about UNC. Heard it's between Uconn and LSU. Both need a F who can score and rebound. Gonna depend what Williams is looking for her 1-year. LSU needs a replacement for Morrow.
